Sitting high in the hills above Amalfi overlooking the whole Gulf of Salerno ,Ravello is one of the the hidden treasure of the Divine coast, due to the irresistible fascination and fame that made it famous in the world, a perfect combination of art and music to deserve the acknowledgement as cultural heritage of UNESCO and the appellative of City of Music. Boasting impeccable bohemian credentials - Wagner, DH Lawrence and Virginia Woolf all spent time here - it's today known for its ravishing gardens and stupendous views, one of the best in the world and certainly the best on the coast.
2. Duomo di Sant'Andrea
A picturesque interlacing of alleys and stairways overlooks the sea with all its extraordinary colors reflecting the enchanting landscape of Amalfi, the town whose name blesses the entire coast. Dominated by the majestic Cathedral dedicated to Sant'Andrea (St. Andrew), Amalfi proffers innumerable testimonies of its glorious past as a Maritime Republic. its cluster of white buildings gleams like a pearl in the strand of towns strung along the Amalfi Coast.

Positano is a picturesque and charming town located near Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi, and Ravello on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Famous for its magnificent cliffside views, Positano has been featured in major motion pictures like “Only You” (1994) and “Under the Tuscan Sun” (2003). However, the beauty does not just lie in the spectacular scenery along the Mediterranean Sea, but also within the people you meet in the town. There is a sense of warmth in the narrow streets that are adorned with lemons, bougainvillea flowers and local artistry. The town is small enough to walk everywhere, and there is little need for transportation. Additionally, the town is very casual – from the small cafes to the cute shops. You will find one-of-a-kind treasures such as beautiful handmade ceramics, lemon fragrances and chic lace clothing. If you are creating an Italy itinerary, this is a must see city.

5. Villa Rufolo
lla Rufolo is the jewel in the crown of the immense historical and architectonic heritage of Ravello. This monumental complex bears the name of the family which built it. In its heyday, in the 13th century, it numbered “more rooms than there are days in the year”. This extraordinary heritage has been partially eroded by the effects of time and negligence, but much has been retrieved, with new features being added in more recent times, starting from the invaluable efforts of the Scottish entrepreneur Francis Nevile Reid, owner of the Villa at the turn of the twentieth century. Over ten centuries the original core, a perfect synthesis of Arabic, Sicilian and Norman architecture, has accumulated new features, from the rather cumbersome 18th century cloister to the Romantic nineteenth century gardens, up until our own times, being currently used by the Fondazione Ravello, the Ravello Festival a
6. Villa Cimbrone Gardens
e Villa’s gardens are breathtakingly beautiful and contain a wealth “of the most beautiful imaginable flowers”. They were largely redesigned at the start of the 20th century, with the valuable input of the English gardener Vita Sackville-West. They are considered among the most important examples of the English landscape and botany culture in the South of Europe. As a result of the strong influence of classical literature and the reinterpretation of the Roman villa, numerous impressive decorative elements from all over the world were placed in the gardens, such as fountains, nymphaea, statues, small temples and pavilions. Some of them often hosted gatherings of the prestigious Bloomsbury Group, which chose Villa Cimbrone as a meeting place and source of inspiration.

This is our second tour with Mario. Last year he took usto the Herculaneum. This year he took us to the city of Sorrento. He gave us all kinds of interesting information on the way to each site He picked wonderful restaurants for our lunches and gave us memorable experiences on each occasion.

We hired Mario and Alex who picked us up in 6 passenger nice Mercedes vans! We booked this trip because we did not want to do an excursion off of our cruise ship and wanted something more personalized. From the minute they picked us up they both were so amazing and we felt comfortable. They brought us to Sorrento and Positano and it was a magical day. They knew exactly what to do with the time we had. I will say that I think they made the day so extra special for our group and we could not ask for more knowledgeable guides. They treated us like family and we all would highly recommend them personally. Will be back and will call on them to see this gorgeous part of Italy

We opted for a private tour for just my husband and I (8:30am to 4:30pm). Our driver was punctual, friendly and professional. We had a relaxing ride in a comfortable van. It was raining when we started out and the umbrellas he brought for us came in handy.

He pointed out and stopped at picturesque locations and offered to take our photos there.

We were given suggestions of things to see at each location and given ample time to explore on our own. He asked us if we had specific things we’d like to see or do and what time we’d like to have lunch. He recommended a restaurant with an amazing view and good food.

Despite the sometimes insane traffic on narrow, winding roads, it was a perfect overview of the area at our own pace.

What a lovely tour! Everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Eugenio as your tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area providing lots of insightful facts while we were on the tour. I use a wheelchair and he was beyond patient while assisting me getting in and out of the car.

Eugenio also provided a delicious lunch recommendation for our family. Certainly a highlight of the trip!

I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a once in a lifetime experience along the Amalfi Coast!

This is our third time working with Mario & his team. When we knew we were returning to the Amalfi Coast I reached out to him first to make certain we could have his help planning our day. As with the last two times, we were thrilled with our itinerary and guide. Mario is easy to communicate with and is very responsive to questions and offering options to put together the best day for our group.

On our tour day, we unfortunately arrived late into Salerno but Alex was there waiting for us and was an absolute delight. We were going to stop at Pasticceria Sal De Riso in Minori at the start of our drive for pastries but due to the timing of other activities that got pushed to the end of the day (and it was so worth the stop!) The Mercedes van that we were in was incredibly comfortable and the AC worked well as we were there during the worst of the heat wave! Alex also had a microphone that made hearing him (and us) in the 3rd row just as if we were sitting net to him. We stopped in Ravello before the crowds arrived which was spectacular. Then on to a stop in Conca dei Marini for a quick lemon tour with the chef, Fiore, of Le Bonta del Capo. We then went to the restaurant to make limoncello with the chef who is hilarious and the activity so entertaining for our group of 7 aged 18 to 56. After the limoncello we enjoyed a delicious multi-course lunch overlooking the water. As we worked our way back to Salerno Alex stopped for pictures, was so friendly and shared such great information with us during our day. He never rushed us yet had us back at the port with ample time to spare.

Can't recommend this group enough. When I return to Napoli/Amalfi Coast they will be the ones I trust to pull together an amazing day (or days!) for me and my family.

Eugenio was fantastic. He was so informative about the areas, flexible with our schedule, ensured I saw everything I wanted to see, and was skilled at navigating the busy traffic. The ride was comfortable and everything was on time. He suggested this terrific family restaurant which resulted in a lovely and delicious lunch. He even took me to a delicious roadside Italian lemon ice stand. He is a local and knows everyone along the route -- you will enjoy your day with Gene!!

Pasquale, our driver, and Roberto our tour guide were amazing. They knew all the best places to go and they also knew how to avoid traffic. They found us the best place to eat away from the tourist area. Thank you to both of them we had a wonderful time.

This was a great experience, well organized ..

Eugene , our guide was progressional , great English and very knowledgeable. He gave us hints on best spots was accommodative to our requests to stop and take photos while riding on the coast

The van was air conditioned and high enough allowing a perfect view of the Amalfi cost as the concrete fence is a bit high and might block view from a small car

Finally, Eugene treated us with a cool lemon sorbet which was nice end to our trip from Ravolli

Thoroughly enjoyed our day with Diego! Our 1st time to Ravello- what a beautiful town! Next stop was one of our favorites Positano. We had ample time to visit and even go down to the beach for some unbelievable views. From there we had an opportunity to take photos of the beautiful Amalfi Coast! What a fun/filled day with Diego! Definitely one of the best guides we have had on this trip! Look Diego up as he provided us so much info about each of our stops as well a lot of great history about the cities we visited! Thanks Diego for an awesome day!

It was very pleasant journey. We've been on a private Amalfi Coast tour, visited Ravello (Villa Cimbrone Gardens), Amalfi and Sorrento, stopped by in Positano. We had a great experience! Our guide Eugene was very helpful and has given us a lot of historical and cultural info about Amalfi Coast.
