Explore and admire Auckland's largest regional park, the Waitakere Ranges, on this 5 hour afternoon eco-tour. The perfect way to get out of the city and enjoy the nature on Auckland's door step.
You'll be picked up from your centrally located Auckland hotel before traveling 30-minutes west to the Waitakere Ranges.
From here travel further west to enjoy a walk in the rainforest before visiting the beautiful Piha Beach for a walk on the soft black sand.

It was a great experience for us. It was a raining /windy afternoon, but the tour guide and driver were warm and kind. It was a beautiful route. The tour guide was professional and knowledgable. We learned a lot about Auckland forrest/trees/animals, and New Zealand history. It was a great tour and we surely will recommend it to friends. Thank you!

This was a really fun way to get out of the city. Erin and Kevin were spectacular guides and made the trip really fun. Piha beach was definitely the highlight of the trip for me; it was absolutely beautiful and the beach wasn't very crowded while we were there. I would absolutely recommend this trip as an afternoon activity.

The tour guides were so good! Meredith knew so much about all the plants and nature. It was a great nature walk and Piha beach is so beautiful. Such a great tour

I liked the countyside, but had the feeling that the black sand beach was not really black and the rain forest was quite dry, but, nevertheless, a nice half-day trip with an excellent driver.

Great tour. They ensured that we get to understand the flora and fauna in the rainforest of Waitakere Ranges. They also provided us with delicious coffee and snacks along the trio. They were also very caring in ensuring raincoats, blankets were provided if we got too cold.
Highly recommend!

Had a fantastic time on the Piha Beach and Rainforest Tour! Both guides were not only knowledgeable and funny, but also incredibly helpful. 🤗 The refreshments - cookies, tea, and coffee at Piha Beach were a delightful treat. 🍪☕️ The breathtaking views at Arataki Center and the tranquil beach stroll were highlights of the trip. Highly recommend for a wonderfully fun and informative experience!

The scenery was beautiful. We had never seen a black sand beach and it did not disappoint. The rain forest was also very good. Our tour guide,Chris, was so knowledgeable about all of the native species. Highly recommend!!
