1. Makrygianni
Our Private tour takes 3-Hours which is roughly split into 80 Minutes at the Acropolis and associated Temples, Theaters and buildings, and 80 Minutes at the Acropolis Museum. MEETING OUR GUIDE. Your guide will be waiting at the 'Acropoli' Metro Station at street level which is located at 7 Makrygianni Street, and close to the Acropolis Museum Our meeting spot provides an ideal perspective from which to view the surrounding wall of the Acropolis built by the earlier Mycenean Civilization and to provide you with an introduction to the History of the Acropolis, its importance and role in the life of ancient Greece, and an overview of the temples & amazing monuments you are about to see. If choosing the 'CITY TOUR LUXURY VEHICLE' option, return transfers are included so we will be at your Hotel or Cruise ship terminal to meet you.
2. Acropolis
TOURING THE ACROPOLIS and PARTHENON. Usually, you will continue first with a visit to the Acropolis lasting approximately 80 minutes during which time you will see all of the Temples, Theaters, and associated buildings such as the monumental gateway (Propylaea), Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheum, and of course the Parthenon.
3. Theater of Dionysus
Still in a good state of preservation, one of our first stops is the Ancient THEATER OF DIONYSUS. Built in the 4th & 5th century BC in a natural amphitheater o nthe slopes of the Acropolis it would have had an impressive capacity of 25000, it is considered the world's oldest. Amazing to think that many of the most famous Ancient Greek plays would have had their original premieres here!

Ascend towards the monumental gateway (Propylaia) and entrance to the Acropolis. As the Temples of the Acropolis come into view, the Ancient Greeks would have been greeted by an enormous decorated Bronze Statue of the Goddess Athena. As legend has it, the tip of her upheld spear could be seen by incoming ships in the sunlight.
5. Temple of Athena Nike
Built around 420 BC, and one of the earliest temples of the Acropolis, this Classical Ionic Temple was dedicated to the Goddess Athena and is largely restored, with a prominent position overlooking the City.
6. Parthenon
The pinnacle of the 'Golden-Age' of Classical Greece, this temple was an unrivaled mastepiece of Art, Architecture and Engineering as well as the heart of Ancient Greek ceremony and worship in Athens. We Take time at this most important temple with an overview of its construction, mythology and Historical importance.
7. Erechtheion
The second largest temple of the Acropolis, the Erechtheion was Dedicated to both Zeus and the Goddess Athens and your guide will illuminate some of its wonderful Mythology and main aspects such as its impressive statues that you will now see in the Museum.
8. Herod Atticus Odeon
Built in AD 161 by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife, this stunning Marble amphitheater continues as a working theater to the present day.
9. Acropolis Museum
TOURING THE NEW ACROPOLIS MUSEUM (approximately 80 minutes) A short distance from the Acropolis you will see many of its original masterpieces along with models, videos & interactive installations housed in this state-of-the-art museum. Your guide will illuminate the most impressive & significant pieces along with the stories of myth & legend behind them. The tour's combination of the Acropolis and Museum form a perfect pairing in the understanding of the core of the 'Golden age' of Classical Greece. ENDING YOUR TOUR. Your guide will return you to the meeting point or choose to stay, enjoying the sights of the City!
10. Acropolis
ACROPOLIS ONLY OPTION(2-hrs): If selecting this tour option during booking we recommend selecting a time after lunch for a crowd-free experience as well as enjoying the 'Golden Light' and the best time to view the honey-colored hues of the temple's ancient Architecture and surrounding city views.

CITY TOUR LUXURY VEHICLE OPTION (4-hrs tour by vehicle): If selecting this tour option during booking you will be picked up from your Cruise Ship, Central Athens Hotel, or other Address. This 4-Hour Private Tour includes All of the main Athens Highlights including the following: ACROPOLIS - OLD TOWN & PLAKA - TEMPLE OF ZEUS - HADRIANS ARCH - OLYMPIC STADIUM - ATHENS TRILOGY - SYNTAGMA SQUARE & THE TRADITIONAL EVZONE GUARDS. This private tour was incredible. So much history was shared with us and our tour guide took their time at each location of the hike for photos and videos. Once completed at the top we were also able to spend as much time as we wanted to explore on our own. 5/5!

Our tour guide Emma, was absolutely amazing! Not only was she very personable and considerate, but her passion for the history and culture of Greece was most impressive along with extensive knowledge! This tour is the best way to experience the Acropolis hands down! A truly cerebral experience! She is also a very skilled photographer, and captured tons of fantastic pictures of my wife and I!

the history and magnitude of the site was overwhelming. Tour guide, Vicky, was very good and knew her facts. It was eerie going through the site and knowing that it would look so much different when finally finished.
Our driver, also, was excellent, maneuvering the city streets quickly and with proficiency.
We thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend doing a private tour such as this.

Thenia was amazing! We started at the museum which allowed us to imagine what the full construction would have looked like, and gave us a ton of historical context. Then we went up to the acropolis. She helped us somewhat skip all of the lines which was so helpful (while the skip the line will let you skip the ticket line, please note that you will still stand in a very long line to enter and exit the acropolis). It was great to get all of the background stories around the Acropolis, as well as some of the mythological stories, and having a private tour was well worth it - We wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much out of it without her. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time on our tour! Valia was so fun, knowledgeable, and energetic. I felt bad for all the visitors to the Acropolis who didn't have her as their private guide through the history of the region, the peculiar personalities involved, and the modern history of the site up to the present. She took her time and walked us through everything, and we gobbled it up. She had answers for every question, and she was full of recommendations for things to do, eat, and see during our short time in Athens. It was the perfect way to see this incredible site. Thank you!

We had an amazing private tour of the Acropolis/Parthenon and the museum as well as a brief overview of the city of Athens with a few stops on the way to the cruise terminal. Our guide and driver were top notch, knowledgable and willing to go the extra mile for us.

Our driver and tour guide did a fantastic job! Private tours are definitely the best option for in-depth learning about the Acropolis and surrounding historic sites. The tour operator was very responsive to changes we wanted to make. Definitely worth the price!
