Have been to Abu Dhabi several times but had never gone on a sight seeing tour. The grand mosque is a must see. It’s very organized there and well planned out considering the amount of visitors . It’s an incredible sight . When you arrive there you actually go in the opposite direction underground and make your way underground across the road to the mosque. Even though I was suitably covered I still was directed to the ladies changing room where a robe was given to me to put on. There were no delays and everything moved along seamlessly .

I was in Dubai for one week and I wanted to visit a mosque. Locals recommended me to go to Abu Dhabi for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque so I booked this tour with Saifco Travel & Tourism.
The tour was conducted by Basian Travel LLC and our guide was Jamil. He explained to us about what we passed by while driving but he didn't join us inside the sightseeing spots. I was picked up from my hotel at 8:30 AM as scheduled and returned around 7 PM. The drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi was approximately one hour and a half. The drive was safe and the minibus comfortable. We were provided with water in the minibus, nice detail. Just one thing, the curtains of the minibus were kind of broken so if you wanted to avoid the sun or didn't have sunglasses, it might have been a little uncomfortable.
We first stopped at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and had one hour and 20 min to go around it. It might seem long time but it wasn't. The mosque is gorgeous, a really piece of art. I strongly recommend anyone who has the chance to visit it. Unless you completely cover your body so that the body shape is not visible, we women are given abaya to wear before entering the mosque so no need to bring any scarf.
I wish we got a pamphlet about the mosque beforehand. Inside it was quite hot and there were many tourists so you don't really have time to walk and read anything. It took me 10 min to find an information center inside the mosque (I think there is only one) and for example I knew that the mosque has world's biggest carpet after seeing it. I saw it but didn't pay much attention. A little sad.
Then, we drove around the corniche street, saw world's second most expensive hotel, the royal palace, world’s furthest leaning manmade tower, also stopped for some pictures.
Next, we stopped at the heritage village, saw a camel, artisans making pottery, carpets, glass and some other handicrafts. Nice place to know more about old UAE.
We had lunch in the Marina Mall from around 2 PM so make sure to eat breakfast or grab something to eat on the way otherwise you might get hungry.
Then, we stopped at a place that make traditional decorative gold carpets (I cannot remember the name), at the dates market (really large variety of date delights but the place itself doesn't look very attractive), at ferrari world mall, then drove back to Dubai.
As a whole, it was worth doing the tour. I could see Abu Dhabi in one day, thing that would have been practically impossible if going by myself.

Yes. Don’t book it.
1)They arrived to the hotel late
2)The driver didn’t introduce himself
3)They put 7 people inside an old outdated toyota minivan, without space to breath. Old waisted tires, and with the CHECK ENGINE on since we left the hotel.
4)The average speed was over 70 miles. Suddenly, more warnings lights in the dash, forcing us to a complete highway side stop. We were so close to the lanes, that the minivan moves with the passing cars. He started to talk by phone, no word to us about the situation. After a long stop, the minivan started again, and we continue with the trip. A second sudden stop again, more celular talk, NO SITUATION EXPLAINED.
5)Minivan re-started again, trip continued, and then again the vehicle stop. This time in the middle of the road, blocking the traffic. No air conditioner, all of us trying to speaking with the driver without results.
7)After a wild, a second vehicle arrived to the other side of the street. We cross the road (in a place without crossway) to get to the other vehicle, which finally left us at the mosque. One person told us to return in 1 hour 15 minutes, to a van with the # 92113.
8)After we return from the mosque ( at this moment no guided tour received yet), then we found a vehicle with a new guide. He tried to give us a tour, but he spoke with somebody in the bus other language than english for 50% of the time.
9)At the time we returned to the hotel, not one apologize received.
We were in our 20th wedding anniversary trip. We travel to all places using the reviews from travelers using this site. In 20 years of travel, this was our worst excursion ever.
