1) the location is very far from main Kyoto area. It took us more than 40mins in a cab and over $30 to get there or change 2 trains and even longer.
2) the place is an old photo shoot / kimono rental place. It’s very old so is interesting in built/ architecture.
3) they had a lot of kimonos to choose from. The owner helps you choose and dress. They are very helpful and kind.
4) Dressing in kimonos and taking pictures was fun. They take the pictures for you and then airdrop them. So that’s nice and convenient.
5) the tea ceremony itself left a lot to be desired. Trying the matcha in a ceremonial manner was interesting but he couldn’t explain too much about the history or significance of tea ceremonies or lot of detail about them
Overall I feel like we spent over 4hours doing this, given a chance again I won’t spend all that time and money on it again.

This was one of the highlights of our trip so far! Loved the intimate setting and the time they spent making the kimono’s look just right on us. The ceremony was very interesting and it was well explained on how each step was to be done. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
