Anyone can take the public boat, stand in a long queue and visit a little bit of these islands, but seeing Venice from my boat is truly iconic, even for those who, like me, were born and raised there!
My characteristic is that I'm not in a hurry, if we finish a few minutes later, there's no problem!
Clearly without any extra compensation, this is my hospitality and it's fantastic because you come to know my city.
I am a tour leader and I know well what a visitor is looking for and wants to see. Thanks to my knowledge I will explain to you on board, each island with its own anecdotes, the vicissitudes that happen in the city and how we, local people, live in this small but wonderful city: Venice.
I remind you that it is a private tour but the boat is shared

We were picked up at our hotel and zipped around Venice to head to Murano. There we experienced glass blowing at a factory with an opportunity to purchase hand blown glass items from little trinkets to huge chandeliers. From there we headed over to Burano with its quaint houses and lovely little stores. There was something for each of us there . . Unique clothing items, souvenirs and of course Gelato! We finished our day heading back on the open waters, seeing other islands with their monasteries, private homes, and just plain wildness while toasting our time together with some bubbly. Vive Venice and surrounding areas!

Davide was amazing. He was committed to sharing what he considered an authentic experience of the local history and artisans that comprise true Venetian culture. He was by turns irascible and charming but always highly knowledgeable and entertaining. I loved this tour.

A great trip with Davide. He is a true local and very knowledgeable, and the trip is very relaxed. Time spent in Murano, Burano, and Mazzorbo, but never felt pressured to a timetable.
Easy to locate and Davide arrived exactly on time (I noted the negative reviews, which seem very unwarranted).
Davide personally knows the people you meet, and it makes for a good experience.
I would strongly recommend.

I highly recommend booking this tour with David. We learned so much about the local history of Venice. He is very fun and laid back, this makes the tour perfect for families with kids or just couples. The tour was not rushed at all. We had a wonderful time. :) put this tour on your To Do list!

Davide is an exceptional guide with the best sense of humor. He knows all the locals and they know him. We were treated like family everywhere we went and cherished all the unique stories about the authentic products and art. We saw the Murano glass factory, the lovely colorful houses in Burano, and met many artisans there. Lace makers, glass blowers, bakers, balsamic vinegar producers, and a final stop at the Venissa winery. At each place were invited into the beautiful culture of these places and their vibrant people. Davide was easy to communicate with before and during the tour. He gave excellent instructions on the meeting location and made sure to tailor the trip to our group and our desires. He has loads of information on the history and keeps you away from the inauthentic "made elsewhere" products. He was hands down my favorite Italian tour guide and made us laugh a lot. After the tour he suggested a restaurant, Algiubagio, to us and even went inside to make sure we got a great table with exceptional service. Book with Davide and you will have a wonderful day.

Excellent tour - must see islands after visiting sites in Venice. Quiet, quaint islands, great way to spend the day. A great experience we were glad we didn’t miss.

Our tour with Davide was a lot of fun and we had great weather. We were originally supposed to go on a Sunday, but bad weather caused us to go the next day. Davide was great about rescheduling so we didn’t have to miss out on the experience! Burano was so lovely and the glass-blowing demonstration on Murano was fascinating! Davide has a wealth of local knowledge and we enjoyed the local shops he took us to in Burano to see lace-making and learn about the art of making masks! Recommend Davide’s tour!

The short of it is: Davide, the tour operator, yelled at my wife and me, from his boat, while we were standing at the pier waiting to board, and then sailed away.
The long and frustrating story is that:
1. This is NOT a private tour. It's a group tour where he's looking to fill his boat completely. When I book a private tour, I expect it to be private, as in my own booking only. It was supposed to be a trip for my wife and I, not a group trip.
2. If you read some of the other negative reviews, you see this is the case. Shame on me for not reading all the 1-star reviews before booking.
3. Davide claims to pick you up from a long list of hotels in Venice. He doesn't. He changes reasons from not booking 72 to 96 hours ahead of time (this time randomly changes), and then also blames low tide. First thing you learn in Venice is to check weather forecast and tide forecast. There was no low tide, he just didn't want to waste gas sailing to the hotel that's listed as one of the pickup locations.
This I only found out because the day before I sent a message asking where we should meet him relative to our hotel. He replied in the app to tell me to go halfway across the island, next to a restaurant and look for a white boat. Fine, Venice is gorgeous, weather was great, we had no issues walking. He also changed the time of trip from 2pm to 230pm. Again, fine, no big deal, we're on vacation and flexibility, though we did have to adjust our evening plans based on his own timeline.
When we arrived at the general location next to the indicated restaurant, it turns out to be a pier with 3 boat ferry stations and multiple little boats docked in-between those. Very active area with dozens of different boats going in every direction between multiple islands.
His description is to "look for white boat." I counted 8, before I decided to just call him and ask which one is his. He yelled at me, telling me I'm in the wrong spot and he's about to leave, then hung up after telling me he'll see if he can find us.
We were apparently about 100 feet/30 meters away from HIS white boat, but because the restaurant has its own patio on the water, we were on the wrong side of that patio. He saw us on the pier by the restaurant, moved his boat closer so we could speak in person then started yelling at us that we're in the wrong place, late and can't get on his boat. Obviously this is when I also found out there were other people on the boat. He had 4 others, apparently got his money's worth, turned the boat around and sailed away, full throttle.
I called and texted him to ask if he's coming back to get us, got no response.
What do you call a person who takes your money, yells at you, in person, from the pier and sails away, when you paid for a private tour? We apparently found the one terrible Venetian on our otherwise amazing trip.
