10 out of 10 would recommend. We were blessed with 4 days of NO RAIN in Scotland and visited most of the distilleries currently open in Islay. The accommodation was excellent and surpassed my expectations. The size of the group was perfect, and our guide, Moray, was top notch. Loved the dark/dry sense of humor. He really loves whisky as much as I do (maybe even more… mind blowing) and he kept us on time for everything yet gave us time to enjoy ourselves and good recommendations. The views are breathtaking. The whiskey was plentiful and delicious, and our hosts at the B&B were phenomenal (husband and wife would cook us a daily Scottish breakfast that was very much needed for the amount of whisky we were drinking daily). One of the best trips of my life.

Just back from the most amazing Whisky tour to Islay! Moray was a great tour guide and made sure we were on time at each distillery but gave us lots of time to enjoy ourselves. The island was breathtaking and the tour exceeded my expectations. I am not really a whisky drinker but learned so much that now I am a convert! I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Recently took a tour with Scottish Routes to Islay for 4 days with our amazing tour guide/leader Moray. Everything from the group to the tours to the bed & breakfast was fantastic. Memorable and made friends along the way.

Our tour departed 4th April 24. We were lucky with the weather on Islay but the weather doesnt really matter much because you spend most of the time either on the comfy bus or in a distillery. This is a great tour for the whiskey lover. Anyone not drinking can ask for ‘drivers samples’ so you can enjoy them some other time. The accommodation was comfortable, the breakfast was very good and the hosts friendly and quick to give helpful advice. They did their best to please. Our tour guide made us feel safe and was both informative and witty. We are so glad we did this tour which we shared with lovely to-start-with-strangers (mixed ages) who altogether made this a great and memorable trip. BTW dont be put off if you have a disability, say what your needs are when booking and if they can accommodate your needs they will say if they can or cannot.

Best tour EVER, Rob and the other guests make the trip very enjoyable. I can't believe how great the Whisky tour went. Made great friends and we all enjoyed the moments.
I don't see how it could have been made any better.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide, Rob, was a brilliant fountain of knowledge and fun guy to hang out with. Andrew and Alison at The Bowmore House were great and made sure we left the house happy and well fed every morning. I would definitely recommend this tour if you're considering one.

Absolutely wonderful tour! Our tour guide, Rob, is a master of his craft, knowledgable, entertaining, accommodating and flexible. We stayed at the lovely The Bowmore House B'n'B, visited distilleries all over the island and several interesting historical sites. Couldn't recommend this tour more highly, especially with Rob.

This was an extremely well planned tour by Scottish Routes - itinerary, B&B, driver - everything was top notch! We had a fabulous time. Moray gets high marks for delivering us safely to and fro each day, as well as providing bits of Scottish history and he showcased his whisky knowledge too. He kept us entertained with his humor and corrections of our American pronunciation! Andrew and Allison of Bowmore House were friendly, gracious and provided a delicious Scottish breakfast each morning, including a dram of whisky! Big thank you to Scottish Routes, Moray, Andrew and Allison! Well done all. (Mike and Martha from Italy)

It was awesome!

I would highly recommend it for whisky lovers. Our tour guide had a good sense of humor and took us around all the distilleries, telling us about Scottish history. He was awesome.
The people on the bus were a mixed bunch, and you got to know them; the whole group was friendly by the end of it.

I really liked the people of Islay, a small community where everyone knows everyone and is super friendly.
The whisky tastings and tours were interesting, with beautiful nature, buildings, and their unique whisky-making culture. I'd rate it 11/10 and highly recommend it to anyone interested in the making, tasting, and history of whisky.

I would have loved to know more about Bunnahabhain and their distillery. They only gave us a short 5-minute presentation and some whiskys to taste at their gift shop, but the taste was awesome. 😍
