I would highly recommend this class. Lory (the chef) was absolutely amazing!!! She was very patient with me (someone who has never cooked before) and also very kind. The restaurant where the class was held was wonderful. Lory was just fabulous and so sweet. Thank you Lory for the marvellous experience!!!!

Lori was amazing and made the workshop a lot of fun and very easy to follow. Would definitely recommend this class if you’re looking to learn how to make different pastas and tiramisu from scratch!

This was a fantastic class. Jess was our instructor and was full of helpful information. I had four teenagers with me and they all enjoyed making the tiramisu and pasta.

Wow! We loved this experience so much. The whole process is very organized and clean, you eat what you make and it’s all labeled. I learned so much more about pasta making, Italian culture and met a wonderful group of people. After the class you retire to a beautiful table and your pasta is cooked and sauced and you dine with your whole class. We had such a wonderful evening. The food , despite having never made my own pasta before, was extraordinary and that’s a credit to our teacher. She was fabulous and managed to be helping and leading everyone. I was surprised at how well even young children did at making their pasta. It was really impressive to take such simple Ingredients and make a whole meal out of them. Cannot recommend enough and we will def make this a mandatory part of travel.

Chef Desi was absolutely incredible and I want to start off by clarifying she deserves 5 stars. The reason it is a lower star review is because of things outside of her control. You can 100% tell she is professionally trained and has ample experience in the culinary world. She was by far and away the best part of the experience. She made time to help with everyone and made the prospect of cooking homemade pasta very approachable.

However - the tour is advertised as a “small group” experience of 15 people. We had over 20 in our group and that definitely made things hectic. Especially considering the fact there were three children under the age of 7 that needed a lot of help from the chef.

The tiramisu portion of the class was also more of assembling than cooking. Only 4 people actually did any prep work while everyone else stood and watched. Then the “making” of tiramisu was taking lady finger cookies, dipping them in coffee, and scooping the filling everyone else made into a cup. It tasted great, but was hoping for a slightly more involved/hands on experience.

The pasta making was super fun and informative. Again Desi was fantastic and helpful. But you could tell she was a little rushed because of the size of the group.

After the pasta making was done, that was pretty much it. There was no explanation or walkthrough on how to make the sauces for the pasta, or observing the pasta being cooked to understand proper cook time. We went out back to the patio (which was beautiful) and sat at a huge table which made it difficult to talk with everyone. Again, the size of the group knocked the ability to “connect with other travelers” as the description reads.

If we were to book another cooking experience we would be sure to do a smaller group (10 or less, maybe even private) and ideally one with an age cap. Also we would look for a more involved class that goes beyond just pasta and dives into the sauces as well. If Chef Desi ran it we would be more than happy with that.
