What an amazing experience in this pristine, remote and beautiful part of Tasmania. We had 3 days of brilliant sunshine with Callum and Dave, two wonderful tour leaders with an incredible knowledge of South West Tasmania and Bathurst Harbour. The scenic flight in and out of Melaleuca was brilliant, the wine and food and the glamping were outstanding and a trip I will remember for the rest of my life. THank you Par-Avion. Put it on your bucket list!

Fantastic experience marred by a generator running all night both nights . Ask before booking if this bothers you.

This was one of the most exceptional trips we have ever taken. The remoteness, the rugged beauty, the harshness of the environment made this a truly memorable camping experience. The guides (Callum and Hillary) had extensive knowledge of the Port Davey area and the stories they wove of heroes past and present made the area come alive. Par Avion catered for everything and the tents and facilities were first class. The food was first class and seemed endless, along with good quality Tasmanian wine. Thank goodness there were plenty of opportunities to climb mountains! One would hope that this area remains untouched - I will be fighting to keep it that way - but just in case, take this trip to one of the few last untouched areas of Australia.

Spent a fabulous 3 day at Melaleuca day started with a fantastic scenic flight over the southern coast line with great views and knowledge about the areas from our pilot but to see that gravel air strip in the middle off the SW wilderness was so exciting To step out onto the famed Melaleuca was truly a amazing experience we met our guides Pete and Cal who at from the moment we met you just new these guys knew and loved this beautiful and wild area After a short boat trip we arrived at our camp site or should I say Glamping site king size bed hard top tent hardly roughing it The next two days was a amazing adventure with walking hidden forest’s amazing meals and most of all the incredible information from Cal and Pete if you won’t to have a adventure of a lifetime in one of the most beautiful and remote places in the world could not recommend this place and trip more

My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Par Avion South West Wilderness Camp. It was a brilliant three day experience exploring Port Davey, Bathurst Harbour and Melaleuca Inlet. Our guides Pete and Callum were fantastic, thoroughly professional and always willing to go the extra mile.

Our pilots Liam and Alex and the rest of the team at Par Avion were also all terrific.

Port Davey is stunning and the natural and cultural history associated with the region well worth exploring.

I can't recommend the destination and Par Avion highly enough!

We stayed in lovely glamping tents with very comfortable beds we were so well provided with excellent food and more importantly fantastic guides with Peter and David . They had incredible knowledge of the Port Davy history as well as having expert knowledge about the environment and flora and fauna. They were excellent hosts who were also not intrusive on our enjoyment we had a fabulous time.I would highly recommend the experience.

Awesome experience from the great pilots to Dave and Mick and their wealth of knowledge about the area and Tasmania in general. We really enjoyed the pristine beauty of the area and the wildlife - and the clouds and occasional rain just added to the atmosphere. Great food, comfortable accommodation, and a memorable experience with epic photography opportunities. We will want to come again. Nicole and David

From the flights in the tiny planes that ferried us to Melaleuca to the astonishing landscape, brilliant guides and company of others drawn to wilderness, it's hard to think of an experience that could top this one. Only 8 guests cared for by the two guides, Peter and Mike, both of whom had so much knowledge to share. The accomodation is simple, clean and comfortable. The food was plentiful and fresh (the company goes to pains to accommodate different dietary needs). For me the scenery was the stand out but have to say the group swim when we all leapt into the tannin waters of the harbour was unforgettable too!
