The trip was amazing and memorable, and we took lots of great pictures. Our Tour Guide Hassan was very friendly and he took good care of the 6 of us. We also enjoyed the homemade Berber pizza and couscous dishes at the tour guide's home very much.

If you're looking for an amazing Morocco road trip, Sirocco tours delivers!

Our guide Hassan and driver Issa are both amazing. We're a family of four (55, 55, 24, 21) who have lots of road-tripping and do-it-yourself travel experience but had limited experience with guides. Sirocco was patient and friendly in emails as we edited the itinerary a few times to fit our time constraints and our desire for a day hike. They organized an unforgettable trip, and we stayed in nice riads and hotels throughout the trip.

Hassan is friendly, knowledgeable and fun to be with for 10-days. He is good at navigating through all the contrasting situations in Morocco from talking with people in the desert to busy medinas to modern cities. There are too many trip highlights to mention, but it was a special day visiting the market in his hometown of Merzouga and his mother for lunch.

Issa is a safe, friendly and professional driver on all types of Moroccan roads. Within the same day, we frequently were on 1-lane switchback mountain roads, busy city areas and modern highways. We are used to driving ourselves, but it was so much more relaxing as passengers. We didn't have to figure out car-rental, parking (which would be impossible near medinas), police stops, or rules-of-the-road. The van was a modern, 3-row van with plenty of room for all of us and our bags.

We went in December. It was cool with warm daytime temps and nighttime temps just above freezing. It was a slow season for tourists which meant we often had sites all to ourselves. It was really nice visiting kasbahs, Roman ruins and the desert with few other people around.

When booking with Sorocco, they ask for a small credit card deposit, and then you pay the remainder to the guide when you arrive in Euros or US Dollars. We aren't used to carrying that amount of cash on a trip, but it was no problem. Morocco is a cash country, so you'll be using it frequently. ATMs are generally available if you run out.

Tanmirt, Hassan, Issa and Sorocco!

This trip was more than excellent. It was a positive life experience. If you're considering Morocco as your next destination, you probably already know about its natural beauty. So I won't bore you with those references, except to say that the pictures you see online don't do it justice. They just can't capture the magic.

But what made our trip to Morocco a positive life experience was traveling the country with Siroco Tours and our guide/driver/interpreter, and now friend, Mohamed Boughrara. Here's a few reasons why:

We arrived in Marrakech several hours late on day 1 thanks to TAP Air Portugal and its cavalier attitude about on-time departures. Mohamed had been outside the airport in Marrakech for at least five hours waiting, but he greeted us with the biggest smile and enthusiasm, which immediately re-sparked our excitement for the trip to come.

We travelled with another couple (long time friends), and for the next 9 days, Mohamed made sure we saw every sight, ate every dish, and experienced every must-have experience in his amazing country.

One member of our group only spoke Portuguese, and another only English. No problem, because Mohamed spoke both, in addition to Spanish, Arabic, and his native Berber language. He speaks other languages too. Mohamed not only showed us the sights, but gave us context, which is something often missing from trips like this. Mohamed knew the history of everything; who built, when, why, who conquered it, when it was abandoned and resettled. He explained the history of the Berber people of the area (his people) and their eventual mixing with the Arabs. He answered every stupid question (there were many), and was incredibly patient with us. He was also very protective of us and made sure we weren't overly hassled by street merchants, etc.

I could go on and on about the intangibles, but I think I got the message across. Now for the tips:

If you enjoy alcohol during your vacation, buy some at the duty free on the way there. If you run out, you'll need to ask your guide to take you to a major grocery store (e.g., Carrefour) to restock. Most restaurants and Riads don't serve it (although Riads will let you have your own).

Ice for drinking anything is a commodity.

The roads are very good, but Moroccans' driving style could make you queasy.

Do not miss the Merzuga Desert experience (two nights is ideal). Mohamed and his family have a beautiful boutique hotel called Desert Villa which is a must-stay.

Do not skip Tangier.

If you wear contact lenses you may want to bring one of those sunglasses that protect your eyes from sand, etc.

Their pharmacies have the basic stuff, but bring medicine for indigestion. All the seasoning in the food can wreak havoc in your gut.

If you're still choosing a tour company, I hope this review will convince you to go with Siroco Tours. Morocco, as a destination, sells itself. Safe travels!

I arranged a private tour of Morocco for 5 women. The responsiveness of Alexandra from the first contact was superb. Our driver/guide was personable and knowledgeable. The riads where we stayed were all top notch with friendly staff and walking distance from anywhere we wanted to visit. The highlight for many of us was the Maison Sahara in the Ziz Valley.
The family running the riad couldn't have been more accommodating. The private guides for the medinas all were informative and helpful. Our tour was jam packed and I wish we had more time at several locales to participate in more activities. I honestly don't know how Siroco Tours is able to provide the high quality private tour that we experienced for the money that we paid. My only caveat - be advised that your driver/guide is not allowed (by Moroccan law) to enter the historic sites and medinas with you. Siroco Tours arranges local guides for several locations but you will be on your own at some of the sites you will visit along the way.

What an amazing time my 5 friends and I had in Morocco in September.I visited in May 2022 with Sirocco and both trips were beyond wonderful. This year our guide Radouane and driver Issa went above and beyond expectations to make our trip so memorable. By the time our almost 3 week tour was over, they became like family to us. We stayed in such beautiful Riads, learned so many new facts about Morocco, the Berber culture, enjoyed delicious food, and most of all sang, laughed, and listened to Moroccan music as we drove along the highways of Morocco awestruck by the incredible scenery. The 3 days in the desert were amazing staying at the Desert Villa, eating delicious food, camping ,and listening to incredible music, and riding there on camels.
Our wonderful guide and driver made our trip so wonderful by taking such good care of us. They were amazing.

I give Sirico Tours the highest praise possible. The organization catered to what we wanted to see and were quite flexible. Our group of six rode in a very comfortable nine passenger van. Our guide, Radoune, was knowledgeable, personable and very courteous. He took us to sites and shops that we would have missed had we been on our own. His English is very good and he helped us with translation and culture do’s and don’ts. Our driver, Issa, is a safe driver and kept a close eye on our belongings. He always put our safety first. I will define work with Siroco Tours again.

We are a Canadian couple 53-58. From my first contact with Alexandra, she was professional, attentive to every detail, she answered all my many questions. We created the perfect customized private tour for us. We had a reliable, nice and clean véhicule. Our driver Rachid was cautious, he knew the country roads and we always felt in security. He spoke with passion about his religion, the history and sites of Morocco. He was always prepared to make an extra stop and made sure we did not miss anything along the way. We were warmly greeted in every single hotel and Riad. Every accommodation was extraordinary and we started everyday with a generous and delicious breakfast. The guides we had in some of the cities were nice and knowledgeable. One word for this tour is ‘’perfect’’. We highly recommend Siroco tour.

We had a wonderful trip with Siroco tours. We were two couples in a 8-seat minivan. Our guide, Mohamed, went above and beyond to ensure we have fun, accomplish all we wanted to do and enjoy the country, cuisine and excursions. He took us to local restaurants that were much better than the touristic ones. Alexandra and Leonor had a couple of zoom meeting with us prior to the trip and ensured all our questions and concerns were addressed and tailored the trip to our wishes.
Overall, we had a very nice trip.
