This was an excellent tour. We took the tour on a Sunday, which did help with the traffic on the way out of Tokyo, enabling us to get to Oshino Hakkai in an hour and a half. We were also extremely lucky to have clear skies for a few hours in the morning for some excellent pictures. The driver, Shahrul, was excellent and did everything he could for us to see as much as possible. We even squeezed in an extra shrine visit.
I do have some tips for future travellers.
1 - A Sunday tour will help with morning traffic, but do expect 3 hours return journey through heavy traffic, its inevitable.
2 - If you see Mount Fuji, consider yourself lucky. All the Japanese people I spoke to said its nearly always cloudy at the mountain. So set expectations accordingly.
3 - The Lake Kawaguchiko Ropeway wasn't worth it for me personally. If the queue is down to the main road, expect a 45 minute wait. And remember, it'll also be a 45 minute wait at the top to come back down. You could see a lot more places instead of waiting there.

The driver we had was very respectful and knew exactly where he was going. Food along the way was great and the traditional village was very interesting.

We were able to see many iconic views of Mt. Fuji. Our guide, Shahrul, was great! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went out of his way to accommodate our dietary restrictions for lunch. Highly recommend him as a quide for a day trip to Mt. Fuji.

So good! Anees our tour guide was fantastic, really helpful and great English. We visited six different places and all of them were amazing. Definitely take some snacks with you as we filled our lunch break by going up the cable car and on the boat trip (don't miss these, both have fabulous views)
Early on in the day it was really foggy (and cold) so we weren't sure if we would see Mt Fuji but it cleared up later on and wow. Just wow
Would highly recommend this trip and this company

The biggest benefit and reason why you should book the private driver is that you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. Tokyo is a massive city and waking up early in the morning to catch a couple of trains is not how you want to start your long day at Mount Fuji. We walked downstairs and Haider, our driver, was there right on time. He was very friendly. Stopped at a convenience store along the way so we can get water and food. We got to do the ropeway as well. And at the end when we’re exhausted from the fun day, we slept in the car on the way back, woke up and we were at our hotel. Perfect. Would definitely recommend. The quickest and easiest way to go see Mount Fuji.

We had such a great time on this trip. Amit our guide and driver was so pleasant to be around with. We had a 6 and 3 yo with us. And he was very patient especially when my 3yo was throwing tantrums. A private tour is a must if you have very young kids with you. The ease of making changes or emergency potty stops was helpful.
Seeing mt fuji from different sites was an exhiliarating experience. Unforgettable.

Amazing experience to see so many places pretty much at your own pace while your private driver takes you to them.
There is NO way you can do this on your own with public transportation or even renting a car if you are not familiar with the areas in Japan.
Our driver Colleen was polite, very attentive and a pleasure to talk to.
We greatly enjoyed Oshino Hakkai, Arakuyama Sengen Shrine, Kawaguchiko Lake (delicious lunch) Lake Saiko and the old traditional village of Iyashi No Sato where it felt like we stepped on a Time Machine and went back to ancient Japan.
We were able to customize our tour’s pick up and be left at another point in the Yamanaka lake and not back in Tokyo as we continued the next day to Kyoto.
The whole family loved this experience as once again we did it at our own pace while our friendly driver kept us on schedule.
