The former concentration camp Sachsenhausen was the first purposely built camp to be established as a center for terror, fear, persecution, torture, experimentation and murder. Initially it imprisoned those the Nazi's deemed to be racially, socially or politically inferior. On your way to the former concentration camp pass through the local town of Oranienburg and learn how the population supported and benefited from its operation. Your expert, licensed guide will accompany you through the former prison/punisment cells, infirmaries, barracks, gas chamber and crematoria. Learn stories of valour and solidarity amongst the inmates in the face of an almost hopeless situation. During our tour you will visit the Inspectorate of Camps, from this innocuous looking building the Nazi's controlled the entire concentration camp sytem of Europe.
For every ticket sold we donate €2 towards the upkeep and future restoration of the former concentration camp

Amazing. Iaona was a WONDERFUL guide! I'm from the US, so I never learned much about camps beyond Auschwitz while in school or during university. This tour was informative and SO very enlightening.

Spent 5 hrs with Nickolai as our tour guide today and his wealth of knowledge of the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was phenomenal. There is so much to do and see on the tour and if I hadn’t been so exhausted I would have stayed on for another hour or so. Would highly recommend this tour - you do need be able to walk a few kms over the course of 3 hrs but there are frequent stops when he imparts information. 10/10

Nicolai was an excellent guide — informative, authoritative and sensitive. A longer tour would have been even better. Highly recommended.

Xavier was an excellent guide who had a lot of knowledge and made the tour very interesting. He had to take an extra group due to his colleague getting sick suddenly and he handed this fantastically. He was very friendly and very caring to all the participants and took into account their needs. He balanced out the facts well. As someone who had previously done the tour a few years earlier I still found out information I did not know. A visit to a concentration camp definitely needs to be done with a tour guide to appreciate the situation and learn about the history and Xavier is defiantly the person you want for this if you can. He also emailed us further information going into more debt about stuff. This was a great trip considering the sadness of the place.

Xavier was an incredible host and guide. Entertaining and interesting to listen to, funny but also incredibly delicate with the material. He answered any questions from the group and followed the pace of information as set by us to ensure it was never too much. The tour itself is a must do in your lifetime as it truly opens your eyes to what happened in places like this which is a lot more than you think you know. 100% recommend to anyone willing to learn.

I went on the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial tour with two friends. Georgia was our guide and she was fantastic. She met us at a Berlin U-Bahn station and guided us all the way to the site on the public transit. She was super helpful even when train disruptions got in the way. The tour itself was fantastic. Her talks and knowledge about the site were incredible. Although the subject is very rightfully heavy, she had a heart when she spoke. I'd take another tour offered by Georgia and would recommend the tour to anyone visiting the Berlin-area.

I’ve never thought I was going to be able to experience something like this in my life however I felt rushed and that I didn’t have enough time to dig into the history and enjoy the whole experience.

Josh, our guide, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable, very thoughtful and respectful in his presentation. While the subject was difficult and emotional, it’s important to take tours of the camps to remember and never forget. Highly recommend.
