Zoltan was amazing! Not only did we sample amazing local cuisine we left much better informed of the History and true sense of Hungary. Do not have a big breakfast before the meal!

We did several food tours throughout a two week trip in Austria and Hungary and the Budapest Walking Food Tour with Secret Food Tours and our guide Zoltan, was by far the best. What made it the best? Yes the restaurants selected were great and not touristy, but Zoltan was the difference. We were never rushed in any stop, yet made all stops on time. We learned history and ate great food, had a lot of laughs and made new friends, that I include Zoltan as one. This was literally one of the highlights of our entire trip and I would recommend if you are in Budapest, to book a food tour with Secret Food Tours and hope you are lucky enough to have Zoltan as your guide.

The food tour was amazing because it was also a semi historic walking tour all in one!
The guide was very engaging and quite the comedian!!
Just for future customers, it would be appreciated if the drinks package was included when booking from the start.
Apart from that, highly recommended as stated earlier it’s a historic walking tour with the bonus of food included.

George was an excellent guide on this Street Food tour of Budapest. He was knowledgeable about the cuisine as well as the history and culture. We especially appreciated his willingness to talk about the historical and present day political climate in a culturally sensitive manner.

We had a great time on this food tour in Budapest! Zoltan was a fantastic guide - a fantastic story teller and very knowledgable on Hungarian food. He made the tour fun and interesting. The food was amazing - we tried several tasty dishes like langos and goulash. It was a perfect way to explore Hungarian food and culture. I recommend it to anyone who loves food and wants to learn more about Budapest!

An excellent guide made this walking tour a fun experience. It was a bright idea to arrive on an empty stomach since many traditional dishes were tasty and plentiful. Everyone had an engaging conversation, and learning more about the city's history and country was an added bonus.

I took this tour with Zoltan on a sunny, chilly Thursday in Budapest. He was an incredible guide and a great connection to Budapest, and was generous in sharing his life stories and experiences in Hungary with the group. His narratives gave me a much better understanding of Hungary and the culture, as well as a better understanding of the area around the Hungarian Parliament buildings in Budapest. He helped us understand the Hungarian historical food culture, as well as the impact of "goulash communism" on the country in the 2nd half of the 20th century.
Secret Food Tours have also done a fantastic job with this tour overall, and have selected and partnered with food providers who are great representations of Budapest. The food ranged from langos and strudel to espresso and cheese to goulash with organic wine. It was a truly delightful day of experiencing Hungarian food and gaining a better understanding of the restaurant scene.
TL;DR: guides were great, food and restaurants were lovely, everyone should take this tour to get to know Budapest better.
