1. Corinth Canal
The Corinth Canal is a waterway that crosses the narrow isthmus of Corinth to link the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf. As such, the canal separates the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese, turning it into an island The canal, though executed in the late 19th century, has been a 2000-year-old dream. Before its construction, ships in the Aegean Sea that wanted to cross to the Adriatic or anchor in Corinth, a rich shipping city, had to circle the Peloponnese, which would prolong their journey an extra 185 nautical miles. It is believed that Periander, the tyrant of Corinth (602 BC), was the first to conceive of the idea of digging the Corinth Canal. As the project was too complicated given the limited technical capabilities of the times, Periander constructed the diolkos, a stone road which allowed ships to be transferred on wheeled platforms.
2. Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos)
Corinth was a city-state on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. The modern city of Corinth is located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the ancient ruins. For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of Paul the Apostle's missionary travels. In addition, the second book of Pausanias' Description of Greece is devoted to Corinth. Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece.

The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth was constructed between 1931-1932, with intentions to display the numerous recent archaeological excavations. The museum is located within the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, Greece, and lies under the jurisdiction of the 37th Ephoreia of the Greek Archaeological Service. The museum, noted for its reconstructions of temples and its columns and inscriptions, was established in 1902 and opened in 1909 to display artifacts unearthed in the ancient site of Epidaurus in the surrounding area.

The sleeping lion is the work of German sculptor Christian Ziegel, commissioned by King Louis, father of Otto, in memory of the Bavarian soldiers of Otto's dynasty, who died in Nafplio in 1833 of a typhoid epidemic. The locals, of course, say that what killed them was the many bitter things they ate, hence the other, unofficial name of the monument (echm) Agouroon.
10. Sanctuary of Asklepios
The Temple of Asclepius was a sanctuary in Epidaurus dedicated to Asclepius. It was the main holy site of Asclepius. The sanctuary at Epidaurus was the rival of such major cult sites as the Sanctuary of Zeus at Olympia and Apollo at Delphi. The temple was built in the early 4th century BC. If still in use by the 4th century AD, the temple would have been closed during the persecution of pagans in the late Roman Empire, when the Christian Emperors issued edicts prohibiting non-Christian worship.
11. The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus
The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is a theatre in the Greek city of Epidaurus, located on the southeast end of the sanctuary dedicated to the ancient Greek God of medicine, Asclepius. It is built on the west side of Cynortion Mountain, near modern Lygourio, and belongs to the Epidaurus Municipality. It is considered to be the most perfect ancient Greek theatre with regard to acoustics and aesthetics. The monument retains the characteristic tripartite structure of a Hellenistic theatre that has a theatron, orchestra, and skene. During Roman times, the theatre (unlike many Greek theatres) did not suffer any
12. Palamidi Castle
One of the most well-preserved castles in all of Greece, Palamidi offers spectacular views of the city from its loopholes, wonderful routes inside and terrifying terrain in the hole-prison of Kolokotronis, Palamidi is a fortress to the east of the Acronauplia in the town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece. Nestled on the crest of a 216-metre high hill, the fortress was built by the Venetians during their second occupation of the area (1686–1715). The fortress commands an impressive view over the Argolic Gulf, the city of Náfplio and the surrounding country. There are 913 steps in the winding stair from the town to the fortress. However, to reach the top of the fortress there are over one thousand, while locals in the town of Nafplion will say there are 999 steps to the top of the castle.
13. Akronafplia Fortress
The Akronaufplia is the oldest part of the city of Nafplio in Greece.Until the thtirteenth century it was a town on its own.The arrival of the venetians and the Franks trensformed it into part of the towns fortifications.Later part of it was used as a prison until the Greek government decided that the view provided from its location would benefit the Local Tourism.

We had a wonderful time with Kostas at the wheel. History, geography, you name it, and he knew everything! He went out of his way to explain things and in the end took us to a marvelous seafood restaurant. All in all, a wonderful day and the weather too was perfect. Thank you Kostas.

My family and I (a group of 6 total) thoroughly enjoyed the private tour with our tour guide Michael! Michael was very professional, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about St. Paul, Corinth, and the Peloponnese region. We saw several sites, churches, and more bringing St. Paul’s journey to life. We learned so much from Michael and how Corinthians lived and got to see some incredible temples and structures. Every site was breathtaking even the beach that St. Paul baptized one of the first Corinthians. We ended the day with several options for lunch. Michael’s recommendation was spot on - great Greek food and wine. Also, Michael made the drive from Athens to Corinth so smooth and truly connected with each of us. We felt like family by the end of the day. If you’re considering doing this tour, book it now! It’s the perfect day trip from Athens and offers you something slightly different from what you will find in Athens or any of the Greek islands. Definitely an option that rounds out one’s trip! Book it and be sure to ask for Michael!

Christos was fantastic. He was right on time, an excellent driver and companion, and ensured the tour was tailored to our interests. It was the perfect way to see Ancient Greece while experiencing all Greece has to offer today. The car was comfortable and roomy and he provided water, juice, and snacks on the way. Just a great day!

We took a tour with Costas to the Corinth area in the footsteps of St Paul! It was outstanding. Costas was very helpful and a great driver, guide and overall good guy! Highly recommend using him for any tours originating from Athens!

Our driver took his time and kept a balance between explaining landmarks to us and letting us relax and enjoy the scenic view. He understood our interests by asking a few questions and made suggestions and recommendations for the future accordingly. He arrived early and drove carefully giving us our space and time at each stop. Andreas was Very professional and pleasant to deal with. Highly highly recommend him.

My husband and I had a wonderful
Time on this tour. We arrived a day ahead of the rest of our group and we’re looking for something that combined ancient history and beautiful scenery -Corinth and Nafpilo fit that bill perfectly. Andreas, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and so personable. We got to chat not just about the history behind the sites we were visiting that day but also just about Greek culture and recent history. Excellent experience all around.

Fantastic trip! Andreas was super accommodating and allowed me to amend the tour to 2 stops to Zulu bungy at the canal and Acrocorinth. Beautiful place (not as busy and not too far from Athens) highly recommended.
