Residence of Polish kings and a symbol of statehood, in 1930 the Castle also became one of the most important museums in Poland. It collects collections of paintings, graphics, sculptures, fabrics, goldsmiths, military items, porcelain and furniture. The chambers display the famous tapestries of Zygmunt August and magnificent Renaissance Italian paintings from the Lanckoronski collection, and the Wawel collections of Eastern art contain the most important and largest collection of tents in Europe. The Royal Castle is also an important center for the conservation of works of art. Permanent exhibitions recreate the appearance of the rooms from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

They try and cram as much as they can in the 2 hours we have. I didn't get our leader's name unfortunately but she was great in trying to provide as much information as she can on the history of the castle. The cathedral was so beautiful, shame you can't take pictures. All in all saw quite a bit.

We would HIGHLY recommend this tour. Our guide was phenomenal and the experience of seeing so many rooms of the castle was quite impressive. Best of all, should you enjoy the experience with your group and wish to go back, the grounds of the castle are open. Admission is only required to enter the interior rooms. Both inside out out, the architecture, history, artworks, tapestries, courtyards, views, rooms, etc. are stunning.

Wawel castle is a central historical site in Kraków, but challenging to navigate and understand without a guide. I recommend a guidef tour that not only introduces the area but also delves into the rich history of Poland. Helen our guide, was fantastic and inspiring. She brought into life the history of Poland and Kraków. A heartfelt thank to Helen for an unforgettable Wawel castle tour, an experience I wholeheartedly endorse for any visitor to Kraków.

Wawel Castle and adjoining cathedral in Krakow, dominates the city from a hill accessible via ramps. The panoramic view, the buildings, the internal courtyards and above all the halls and rooms of the castle are splendid. Beautiful

Very well guided tour lasting around 2 hours with knowledgeable and friendly guide. We took in Wawel Hill, cathedral and the treasury including the history of the area and the buildings. Headsets Included so no worries about not being able to hear the guide.
Would recommend this tour.
