Great little tour with Doruk. Meet away from the crowds at the exit point. Hear some interesting history on the cistern amusingly told before skipping past the waiting queue. You can't get round the security check, but this didn't take long and then you descend down the steps to the amazing cistern area. We spent a good while down there taking photos. The lighting is atmospheric and regularly changes plus there was some interesting modern art located amongst the centuries old pillars. We enjoyed it.

This is one of my favorite sights in Istanbul. I was here 2 years ago and there were no lines to get in then. This time it was very crowded but still a great experience. The guide disappeared in the crowd but I was ok with that since we probably wouldn’t be able to hear him anyway.

Worst Experience! DO NOT BOOK THIS..

We showed up at the meeting point on time (4 pm, 4/19/24) and waited for 10+ minutes in the rain. As the guide didn't show up, we called the number of the tour operator provided on the booking. The person on the call was super irresponsible and not helpful. He told us that he can't come any more for the day and to either come back tomorrow same time or leave it. Despite us telling him that we can't comeback the next day as we will be traveling and that we want to do the tour today itself, he still wouldn't come as promised. When we asked for a refund, he asked us to reach out to viator for it even though it was charged by his travel company. Sent a refund request to Viator and we are still waiting on the response.

We waiting at the meeting point for 40 minutes and the operator never showed up. Other people were there with the same issue. We got a refund through Viator but it was an effort we didn’t need.
