Established in 1998, this is San Francisco's first and original haunted history walking tour, led by international performer and local favorite – Christian Cagigal. You will thrill to this lantern-lit adventure through San Francisco's ghostly past and see its most notorious haunted places.
You will walk one mile on tree-lined streets in a safe residential area with fine Victorian architecture. There is one moderate hill, the pace is easy, and the views are spectacular. You'll enjoy 90 minutes of history and fun!
Highlights include: Poltergeists at the Chambers Mansion, the corpse in a barrel of rum at the Atherton Mansion, the ghost bride of California Street, the powerful woman who supported the Underground Railroad in San Francisco, and more.
Your guide: Christian Cagigal is a Bay Area native and a lecturer of haunted history. He's performed across the globe as a magician and storyteller, and is a featured performer at the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood.

~spooky~ vibes on this tour! Must do activity—super informative storytelling, 1.5 hrs flew by, and easy and accessible walking tour! Went in October 2023 with a large group of friends. Christian is the top ghost hunt tour guide that inserted humor, multiple perspectives, and customized tidbits into our time together. Highly recommend 👻 🌉

As a history buff who wanted to learn more about San Francisco, I thoroughly enjoyed the local history elements interwoven with the ghost stories. Christian's narrating style is also great. I am glad I chose this ghost tour!

I can't say enough great things about our experience. Firstly our guide was top notch: Christian did a great job weaving spookyness, humor, and information (and a dash of magic) in our tour. I learned all kinds of new things about the city that I've known my whole life. Christian was charming and gracious but also was so flexible and able to roll with the punches. At one point someone walking their dog walked by and the dog invaded our little group just to get pets (he was a good boy 12/10) and there was no rushing or annoyance by Christian. I could see how the information could be very dry if delivered by another person, but Christian was top notch. Definitely recommending it to all my friends and all visiting from out of town. I would leave six stars if I could.
Also, I was in a wheelchair and not only was Christian very accommodating and patient but I felt a very secure navigating the sidewalks. Most of them were wide and easy to drive off. The only issue I had was going down one sidewalk that was on the hill(imagine that in San Francisco) and it was foggy so it was a little slippery for me. But again, Christian took his time and didn't make me feel that I was holding up the group. So fantastic.

The tour started punctually with our thematically dressed (cool lantern and all) tour guide and owner operator, Christian. He's the perfect blend of warmth, engaging, humerous and a wealth of knowledge. We were given a clear outline of what the tour would consist of.
In addition to the tons of ghost stories, we learned so much history about the former(😉?) occupants. The tour ended at at the stunning Butterfly Bar inside the Hotel Majestic.
We decided to stick around and enjoy delicious cocktails before heading back to our hotel. The final personal touch was receiveing an email with book suggestions I plan on ordering.

Christian was brilliant - loads of knowledge about the area and the local ghosts.
Great for all ages too - both young and more senior.

Christian was an engaging storyteller. He taught us a lot about local history. He was very knowledgeable, funny, and insightful. We could have listened all night. Great tour. We enjoyed everything but that one steep hill!

We had a great time on our tour with Christian. He was an amazing storyteller. He kept the group engaged with his stories. I also appreciated how he sent information after the tour so that we can read more about the stories we were told. Would absolutely recommend this tour.

This tour was fantastic! Have been on a couple of ghost tours and this one definitely stands out. I loved the intimate size of our tour. The neighborhood was awesome with all of the Victorian houses.
Christian was SO knowledgeable and we really appreciated him being very upfront with what we potentially untrue.
Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a solidly researched and personable ghost Tour!

A smidgen of spookiness + pinch of mystery + a dash of history = a recipe for an unforgettable evening. I’ve joined several ghost tours on multiple continents, and this was an exemplary adventure. Christian’s tour give participants the opportunity to get out of the heavily trafficked tourist areas and wander a historic neighborhood adored by locals. He provided a unique take on the history of this city that was new to me, even though I’ve lived in the area for a decade. And the surprises at the end of the evening… let’s just say that even the skeptics in the group were wowed. I think locals and tourists alike would enjoy this tour — if you dare. 👻
