The most popular tour through Zurich´s historic old town offers fascinating insights into the city´s colorful history.
What do Einstein, James Joyce and Wagner have in common? All three were residents of Zurich. But it´s not only great minds who are captivated by this lakeside city with its well-preserved old town – people from all over the world have always flocked to the thriving metropolis.
On a two-hour walk through the old town, we go searching for clues to the city´s past in its hidden alleyways and picturesque squares. Together, we uncover the secrets of Bahnhofstrasse, find out what a "procession axis" is, and visit a church with a minute-hand that jumps a record-breaking half meter every minute.
This popular tour is filled with numerous astonishing and amusing anecdotes and has plenty to offer both visitors and locals alike.

Beautiful day to tour Zurich! Guide was not very personable and English not great.
Not as passionate and as informative as I would expect.

It was raining and though we had umbrellas and raincoats on, the rain affected our experience of the walking tour. We could not wait to get inside a building to warm up. The guide was very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about the various buildings and areas we visited. There was a lot of walking up and down cobbled streets which was no problem for most people. For some, the many inclines and declines were challenging. Our 2 hour tour, for these reasons felt like a long time.

Ann was a great guide. It rained during our tour but we still got to see all the important landmarks. She answered all of our questions and gave up restaurants/cafes recommendations.

The tour covered a great deal of the old town and its history. The drawings and photos depicting life in the past added to our understanding of the old city. Plus, we went into a small building that contained a model of the old town which was interesting. Our guide was knowledgeable and experienced.
The only thing I would suggest is for this tour to have a better explanation and a photo of the meeting point. I had a hard time finding it despite using Google Maps which wasn’t that accurate.
