We invite you to join us in a journey back in time though Ancient Rio and Santa Teresa!
Let’s visit the historical center of Rio and go to the Mosteiro de São Bento, walk through the Praça XV, Arcos dos Teles, Cinelandia (and take the opportunity to visit Colombo’s bakery) and the Arcos da Lapa. We will also visit the bucolic neighborhood of Santa Teresa with the beautiful houses of the early 20th century. Santa Teresa is famous for its traditional tram from 1897 and for being the nest of several painters that open their houses so that you can check their work.

It was a very nice tour to historical part of Rio and to Santa Teresa. Our guide, Monica was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The tour provided a very good historical understanding of Rio city and will strongly recommend it.

Monica was a wonderful and super knowledgeable guide. She talked through various aspects of Rio and Brazil’s history, the architecture, art, religion and culture. She took us to many key locations around Santa Theresa which majority of the tours don’t cover. This is a must do tour to get to know about the history of Rio, after seeing the most popular tourist spots. She was very energetic and kept giving us interesting tid bits. She also had several printed photos of how key locations in the city evolved over time. It really put things into perspective, specially when seeing them in front of the same location. We also got to stop at Cafe Colombo and enjoy delicious treats. Super convenient overall as there was a car and driver with us the whole time and only 3 people including us on the tour - so almost a private tour.

We were picked up more than 30 minutes late. The van was completely full except for the two back seats in the middle. I was disappointed with not being able to see out. The guide Dario, was knowledgeable and the places we visited were interesting. I was amazed at the culture and beauty of Rio. We didn’t visit all of the places described, but we saw enough in the allotted time. I rated the tour well for what we saw and did. It was mostly a positive experience.

Very knowledgeable guide, who showed us many interesting site. Was good at explaining what things were and know the history of the quite well. Didn’t rush us.

Interesting areas not previously visited. Enjoyed walking around old quarter. Would have liked to have had opportunity to go on tram

None. The synopsis must say that this tour has a lot of walking on very uneven cobblestone and is not good for anyone that has any kind of walking problem. The tour guide did not even sound that interested.

This was a fun and interesting tour of the charming Santa Theresa neighborhood and other spots. We loved the chance to catch the flaovr of this colorful area. Our guide was excellent and full of great information. The visits to the cultural centers ad the art were amazing. And ending at Cine Colombo was a wonderful ending with the best capucino I've ever add and fabulous chocolate oce cream in an art nouveau masterpoece..

Lousy car. The guide engaged in talking to the driver 95% of the time. Not interested in what he is doing.
