We were picked up on time near to our hotel and driven out to the Park. On the way we were given a good understanding of how the park was developed.
Monica was very informative, had a great sense of humour and was a pleasure to be with. She and her driver, I’m sorry I missed his name, went out of their way to show us not only the botanical park but the sights of Rio on the way.
The park was lovely and peaceful on the outskirts of the city and full of interesting flora and fauna. Well worth a visit.
A very pleasant afternoon and we learnt a lot. We even saw a great sunset!

We had a very pleasant walk with Monica, our French guide for this excursion. She explained to us the history of Rio then the park (exceptional photo) and her villa (we have monkeys there for my greatest pleasure).
Then we went to see the botanical garden, a former sugar plantation which became a powder factory and then the botanical garden.
The orchids are magnificent, you can see parrots, hummingbirds and other birds and even little monkeys.
A little corner of paradise in the middle of the city.

Monica was a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history of sights we saw and she was also a great photographer. She didn’t rush us and allowed us to take in the views as much as we wanted. Parque Lage was amazing and the Botonical garden was even more spectacular. The weather was perfect during our visit so that made a difference as well. I highly recommend this tour to end your time in Rio, it’s very peaceful and lots of great opportunities for photos

I loved having Monica as our guide. She was not only a phenomenal guide and host, she was also patient, knowledgeable and kind. Patient because despite our personal timing issues, she still received us and was able to accommodate us. Monica taught me a lot about Rio, its history, its people and culture all throughout the tour. She was kind because she remained warm and welcoming through the tour until the end.

Should not be missed! Parque Lage was a hidden gem where we saw monkeys and a very cool man-made grotto, along with beautiful vegetation. Recommend binoculars for the Botanic Garden if you want to see the wildlife - most are quite small. Our guide was excellent as well.

there were no tours. At first the meeting was postponed for an hour and later he wrote that the guide would not come because he got sick. We were damaged for half a day.

We had a mixed experience on this tour, our guide Monica was amazing really knowledgeable and a saving grace. When we booked the tickets it didn't state anywhere we wouldn't get in to Parque Lage but when we arrived you cannot visit without pre booking, which you need to do a week in advance. So we only really saw the outside and the gardens which I would recommend but maybe not on this particular tour as its pretty expensive when you don't get the ticket price included

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of Parque Lage and the Botanic Garden in Rio de Janeiro
The Roman inspired palace within the Parque Lage is spectacular as are the surrounding gardens. The Botanic Garden contains a diverse collection of plant species that exemplifies the wonderful natural history of Brazil.
My guide, Monica, possessed a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the history of Rio and demonstrated a strong passion for her native city.
I highly recommend this tour and guide.
