During this 120-minute art tour, through the permanent collection in the Rijksmuseum, you will explore how the artists Rembrandt and Vermeer captured the incredible expansion of the Dutch Golden Age.
See the people, the objects, and the paintings that define this unprecedented era of Dutch history, and explore how the art reflects the changing values and beliefs of the republic.
Meet your guide at the Cobra Cafe at Museumplein. Right at the starting time of the tour, the guide will enter the museum with the group. People who are late will unfortunately loose their ticket, as the museum works with strict timeslots.
After the 2-hour guided tour inside the Rijksmuseum, you can stay as long as you wish, relax at the cafe or continuing appreciating the work of arts.
Frans Hals:
Between 16th of February and 9th of June 2024, you can choose to enter the Frans Hals exhibition (one-hour), continued by a two-hour guided tour in English through the permanent collection.

Guide was very knowledgable and informative. Museum is large and crowded so it was important to me to have a small group and this was. Our guide was able to adjust our timing, we could get close, we could ask questions and hear answers. It was a good tour

Highly recommend this tour—we really enjoyed the guided experience and the diversity of the art. We especially loved seeing the Vermeer and Rembrandt, and learned so much from our knowledgeable guide.

Clare was an excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide! Beautiful museum! Definitely recommend earlier in the day as the museum is less crowded.

Clare was my guide and she was fabulous! I learned a tremendous amount about Dutch history. Her extensive background in art was apparent in her interpretation of the Dutch masters (Rembrandt and Vermeer); I would not have come up with any of that on my own.
I had gone to the Van Gogh Museum the previous day and there was very little overlap in the content of the tours - do both!

Very disappointing tour. We began the tour 30 minutes after the start time, due to the lateness and issues with 2 people. Those same 2 people spoke to our guide continuously, acting as if it was a private tour and monopolized his time, preventing us from moving along. Two people left the tour and we departed a few minutes early so we could see a few more exhibits. We learned nothing and it was aggravating that the tour guide allowed his time to be monopolized by 2 rude people. Sorry we paid for this tour. Waste of money. The worst Viator tour we've ever had.
