Full day tour to see the highlights of the ancient West and East Bank monuments in Luxor from Cairo. In the morning you will take your flight from Cairo Airport to Luxor for a full day tour in Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor Airport you will pair up with your Egyptologist tour guide, who will take you to the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of Luxor, including the Tomb of King Tutankhamun. It consists of tombs embedded in the mountain Thebes. This ancient necropolis is a must-see for Luxor travelers. After visiting the tombs, you will be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman ever to reign over Egypt as a pharaoh. Afterwards, you will be taken to see the Colossi of Memnon, the two largest ancient statues in Egypt, which date back to the era of King Amenhotep III around 1391-1353BC. Then, you will have a break to enjoy lunch in a restaurant with Nile view on the West Bank. After lunch, you will be transported to Karnak in the East Bank of Luxor. Karnak is a complex of temples built in different reigns, starting with the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 gigantic columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Tutomosis I, the Temple of Amon adorned with lotus and papyrus designs, the Granite Scarbeus of Amenophis III and the Sacred Lake. 3. Tomb of Ramses III
The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity,the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’
4. Tomb of Ramases IX
Tomb of King Ramesses lX was the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. His name prior to assuming the crown was Amonhirkhopshef. He was the fifth son of Ramesses III and was appointed to the position of crown prince by the twenty-second year of his father's reign when all four of his elder brothers predeceased his promotion to crown prince . The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated.
5. Tomb of Merenptah
In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, god of craftsmen and architects. It was a great experience to undertake a tour with a guide (Mohammed) who is passionate to pass on the history of Luxor.
Valley of Kings, Hatshepsut tomb and Karnak were amazing, however the added extras of lunch overlooking the Nile and a river crossing will leave a lasting impression.
Would recommend to all.

I wish that I could have enjoyed more time in Luxor, it was spectacular. This tour company is excellent. As a single woman traveling solo in the Middle East, I choose my tours carefully. On this tour, every step of the way I was greeted by a friendly English speaking driver, who was on time and helped me to the next step. It was a very easy transition from the hotel to the airport to the driver on the other side. I felt very safe, and comfortable throughout. The guide Ragab El Motgalye, was personable and extremely knowledgeable. He was working on the excavations in the Valley of the Kings and knows everything about the area. The conversations about everyday life in Egypt were also fascinating. Luxor Tours is the company, and I would definitely book them again - I plan returning to stay for a few more days next time because there was much left undiscovered with only one day. I can not say enough about this excellent experience! Highly recommended.
