I (we) couldn’t speak more highly of the food tour we took with Star!! Aside from every single thing we tasted being unique, mind blowing and delicious, the experience itself felt like such an adventure. Star shared about the history of the foods, how they are typically eaten, different variations you may encounter, etc. it was truly a rich experience in so many ways beyond just flavor. It’s also a plus when you walk into a restaurant and you can tell you are eating where all of the locals eat as one of their favorite places—and you gotta be quick cuz they may run out of what they serve it’s so popular! Star is a delight of a human, and her excitement for what she does is contagious, we had so much fun!! We only did the food tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try local cuisine, but I’m also absolutely sure based on how amazing our experience was, that any tour you pick will be turn into a treasured memory. ¡Muchas gracías, Star!

Excellent! The best way to experience Mexico is through the eyes of a local, and this tour has that in spades. Not just trying new foods, but we learned a lot about the food and also the culture of a Mexican neighbourhood by ChaCha who lives right there. She took us to all the places she eats at.

Cha Cha was great , she really new the history of the food and people . I Mexican and we even had locals with us as friends join and they loved it as they learned the history of the food we at. We ate real authentic Mexican food while learning the culture . Ended up with best treat. It’s a lot of food so don’t eat before you go. 100 best worth ut

Last night my husband and I went to one of the many food tours that we signed up for this trip to Puerto Vallarta. We weren't sure what to expect from this tour because it was a bit of a hike, but I have to tell you... it is definitely worth it.

If you are coming from the Romantic Zone and wanting to catch an Uber, make sure to use "Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, Emiliano Zapata 199, Centro Pitillal, 48290 Puerto Vallarta, Jal., Mexico" as Pitillal church will not come up. I spent at least 15 minutes trying different variations.

Anyway, we met up with Estrella aka "Star" in front of the Pitillal church where the Uber driver dropped us off. We were just a couple of minutes late (so leave early as we have experienced several cancellations from Uber drivers trying to get here). She was very nice and we met 3 others on the tour before leaving.

We walked to about 6 locations and learned about the history of the food. Each locations food was amazing and tasty. Unlike other food tours that we have been on where the different restaurants varied in quality (a couple were great, most were just fine and there were always a couple that were misses), this tour was consistently delicious at each spot. I can't recommend this tour enough.

Estrella, thank you so much for showing us around your neighborhood and introducing us to the amazingly delicious and tasty food. It definitely shows that you've put a lot of effort and research for taking us on the best and tastiest foods. We will definitely reach out and look into doing your other tours in the future.

We did not get to take the tour. Apparently the assigned tour guide, who was at the same starting point as us, was not told we were on her tour (we were not in her list). We stayed south of downtown so spent $17 in cab fare there and back for nothing - tour operator reimbursed only half of that. Still waiting to see if the refund for the tour itself for the two of us goes through.

My two friends - Sean, Rene and I booked this tour because we wanted to have an authentic food experience and we did and much more. Our host, Cha Cha had a story to tell us about each food we ate. She was charismatic and funny and such a light. I felt like we were walking with the mayor of the town given the reactions of the restaurant owners and friends she ran into on the street. A great thing about Star and Cha Cha's food tours is that they give back to their community with what they are doing. On top of this everything we ate was so delicious and I walked out of the tour thinking that I would have some knowledge to drop on my friends when we go out for Mexican in the states. :)

The food tour was awesome!! Come with an empty stomach because u r going to try some amazing food and lots of it. Cha Cha, our tour guide, was amazing as well. Every place we stopped she gave us a little history of the food we were eating and of the restaurant we were at. We went on a Saturday night and the little city we were in was very busy with locals having fun after a long week of work. The food was awesome. I can’t even tell u what my favorite was because they were all soooooo good. I would recommend this to anyone that is a foodie.
