It was good way to get an overview of Berlin and to determine what we wanted to go back to see the next day.
The bus was clean and the open airiness of it was nice. The audio was decent, but we felt a lot more audio info could’ve been given during the ride through such a historically rich city. The ride was slow in the city traffic with many stops and pauses, so it took a long time to get through the whole route. I wish they would add more audio guide information during all those pauses. Wasn’t able to do the second route (Blue route) because one can only sit on those uncomfortable bus seats for so long. All things considered, it was worth the time and money to see the major sites.

Purchased a 48 hr pass online pre visit. No issues at all.
First bus of the day advertised from stop 1 at 0900 hrs. Wrong 0950 hrs it started. Nice and steady with good commentary through complimentary headphones in several languages . It had to divert from the planned route for road closures imposed by the local gov,but we were not told of this. It didn’t detract too much and generally the buses were on time after the delayed start .
The seats are not comfortable .
The green route is only about 40 mins long through the old east Berlin. Interesting but not exciting!
The included bratwurst is only available at two locations, but was good!

Big Bus is great and convenient in any city, but our tour was made unforgettable with our walking tour guide Freddie! Freddie was funny and enthusiastic the entire and gives you his real life experience of the Berlin Wall and what it like for The Fall. Can't recommend him enough. Great tour!

We bought the 48 hour bus plus walking tour and boat tour. The buses were on-time, clean and friendly. It’s a huge city, so the bus will save you lots of walking. The single level, open top boat was nicer than other boats around us and we enjoyed cocktails along with the view. The true highlight was the walking tour with Freddie. He has lived in Berlin since the 1970’s and could likely answer any question you may have. He brings history to life through fantastic storytelling. I believe he leads the evening bus tour also, but we didn’t go on that. I spent a lot of time researching the three different hop on/off buses in Berlin before choosing this one and I’m very pleased with the result.

We went for the package of two bus tours, plus walking tour, plus river cruise and curry wurst. Shout out to Jivee from Ireland who we got the ticket from and set us up for success.
Blue bus tour is to a less interesting part of the old east of the city. Red tour does all the good stuff. We did it for two days hopping on and off. Friendly, helpful staff all along the way. Walking tour with Freedie the English man who shared his own experiences of living in Berlin since the 70s (1970s we think, but maybe 1870s as he is getting on), the tour was a highlight.
Rivercruise captain was grumpy (partner company so different standard), but it was enjoyable to cruise along in the evening.

Berlin is big and if you are only there a few days and want to see all the sites then this is a fantastic way to get around. Buses are really regular at all the major attractions. Absolutely the best thing we did.

This is the usual hop on - hop off tour offered in many towns. Well priced, nice personnel, a good choice if you want to see a lot in a fraction of time.

We bought the 48 hour pass which included a panoramic tour, an evening tour, a walking tour and both the red and blue line routes. It is a good way to get your arms around a big city like Berlin and to get an idea of the areas you'd like to revisit. It can be hard to determine the route stop locations given the number of other similar bus tours. The staff were all very helpful; especially Maeve who went out of her way to find answers to our questions. We really enjoyed the walking tour with Roman. Overall good value for money, although we didn't really use the bus much for getting from A to B.

I used public transit right away and found it much better than the hop-on/hop-off bus for getting to different sights. I basically paid for a walking tour and an evening guided bus tour with this 48 hour ticket, which is fine. I had a good tour guide (same person for both), otherwise I would rate this lower. For Berlin, I recommend just using public transit and booking guided tours individually.

It was a sad day when the Hoop-On-Hop -Off buses decided to go with taped presentations. I understand that it costs a lot less to provide, and allows the bus to offer the tour in more languages than an in-person guide can provide. But the experience is so less engaging, and in my experience (I have experienced this in numerous cities on a couple of continents), of much poor quality. In the case of the Berlin, I can't count the number of important buildings or other sites that were totally ignored by the taped presentation. The Hop-On-Hop-Off bus used to be our first thing to do when we arrived in a new city, but the Berlin tour has cured me of this. Too many disappointments too often.
