Join your hosts Annette and Jose in their kitchen and learn to cook a traditional Spanish meal. Your hands-on cooking lesson will last about two hours and you will learn to cook three dishes from scratch. You will learn to cook dishes such as cordero a la pastora (lamb and potato stew) with alcachofas con salsa (friend artichokes with romesco sauce) or espinacas on garbanzos (spinach with garbanzo beans) on the side. Your meal ends with a dessert such as torija (a Spanish style French toast) or leche frita (a fried dough of flour, milk and sugar topped with cinnamon) for dessert.

Enjoy learning about the little tricks and techniques involved in Spanish cooking before you sit down at the table to share the meal you helped prepare over a great conversation with Annette and Jose!

Annette and Jose were amazing hosts - we prepared and ate a lovely meal at their house from start to finish. They opened up their home to us. We were first greeted by their two cats who were lovely (but they can be put away if you have allergies).
The meal started with wine, some appetizers like cheese, olives, and bread, and then a gazpacho-like soup (but even better!). The olives and the herbs were from their garden, so everything was very fresh.
We chose fish, so we had fish and potatoes and onions with a delicious herb sauce. Then we made and had a cinnamon sweet dessert! We spent about 4 hours or more, and it went by so quick we were having lots of fun and chatting. Highly recommend!! Thank you!

Definitely the highlight of our trip. Annette and Jose were fantastic hosts, and we really enjoyed our time with them. Annette is Canadian, and speaks perfect English. Jose is from Spain, and doesn’t speak much English, but we were able to have a good conversation with Annette being interpreter. The food was great. The wine was even better… We really enjoyed it. We would definitely do this tour again. Annette also emailed us several of her recipes. Much appreciated.

We had originally planned to do a group cooking class, but decided to do this private one with Annette and Jose instead. We are so glad that we made this choice. Annette and Jose were so welcoming and friendly. Annette's english is excellent, and although Jose does not speak english, he was still part of the conversation with Annette as his translator. We made authentic Spanish dishes that were unique and very tasty. They had wine, cheese and bread to snack on while we made a cold soup, meat dish, from Jose's family recipe, and a sugary and scrumptious dessert. All the dishes were easy to make and Annette shared the recipes with us. I highly recommend cooking with Annette and Jose if you are in Seville.

We were greeted very warmly. Annette and Jose were charming, friendly and informative. ( We speak some Spanish, so we were able to communicate with Jose.) the menu was exactly as requested. So, good food, good wine, good conversation. A very enjoyable experience.

This has been the highlight of our vacation in Spain. Annette and Jose welcomed us in their home. We enjoyed fun and thought provoking conversations while we learned to prepare the best meal of our trip. It was one of those experiences that will never be forgotten.

As for the food, we prepared Sopa Castellana (Spanish garlic soup often made with an egg poached in chicken broth and sherry), fresh Corvina roasted over potatoes and onions with a garlic, parsley, lemon, salt, and olive oil sauce, and for dessert Torija (a Spanish style French toast), Leche Frita (a fried dough of flour, milk, and sugar topped with cinnamon).

The entire experience was a 100 out of 10! What a way to kick off our time in Sevilla.

Annette is a native Canadian is multilingual and very much into flamenco. So much so that she moved to Seville permanently. She lives with her boyfriend Jose who is from Soria. Three of us took the “Authentic Spanish Cooking Class and Meal with Locals in a Seville Home” and we had so much fun! We learned a million things about Spanish cooking food from Annette and Jose. From the fact that they use very few spices in Spain, to why gazpacho like soups are so popular in Spain (it’s hot during the summer months and Spanish col soups are very refreshing).

To say this was a typical cooking class would be very misleading. Annette and Jose are wonderful hosts who truly encourage hands on cooking while they instruct (Annett speaks and Jose – not understanding or speaking English, points and gestures). They are both very easy to be around and want you to feel comfortable in their kitchen.

After our class, we all enjoyed the meal we cooked with Annette and Jose, what could be better? We took away very good experiences and memories, plus now that we are home, we have cooked everything we learned from them in our own kitchen. This was an experience we will always remember

If you're in Seville and want a truly unique food and cultural experience, you don't want to miss out on this class.

Annette and Jose are such lovely people, we got on very well and immediately felt welcome in their home. The food we cooked was simple, good quality ingredients that were delicious, all 3 courses we will cook again at home.
It was my partners birthday and they bought a bottle of Cava and candles, making the day even more special, such kind people.
We could have spent all day with them. Next time we are in Seville we will get back in contact! Annette and Jose have a place to stay in our home if they are ever in London!

What a wonderful way to spend our first evening in Seville! Annette and Jose were gracious hosts and opened up their home to us and help us learn to cook a scrumptious traditional Spanish meal. The lamb was some of the best we ever had! Highly recommend if you want to be treated like friends and not tourists!
