Osaka Okonomiyaki Cooking Experience!

We learned the tips and techniques to make perfect Osaka-style okonomiyai! Oishi! Keiko showed us how to flip the okonomiyaki to ensure the perfect crispy result. Keiko’s assistant, Kimmi, told us about tea and seasonal sweets. A wonderful time!

It was a great and fun experience, with a good mix of getting to know the Japanese culture, people and ingredients. Also, that you can cook this meal anywhere in the world as you don’t need any special equipment. Thank you for that amazing experience!

We learnt a lot about Japanese food and Japanese culture. We also chatted with fellow ‘students’ from Germany and Turkey. Keiko and her mother were fabulous hosts for our cooking experience. Keiko even catered for my vegan request too! Explaining different ingredients to us and how to use them.

This cooking class was a great experience while in Osaka. My friend and I enjoyed it a lot. Keiko, Kiyoko and Satchiko were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The class was well organised, easy to find and the Okonomiyaki was very tasty! I look forward to making it again at home.

We had a great time learning about, and cooking okonomiyaki. Our host was excellent. She spoke English very well and explained the history, and regional differences of this super tasty dish. You’ll get to meet people from around the world and cook together, then eat together. Also, if you want a safe place to practice your Japanese - this is it.

This was a fun experience for my partner and I to meet a few locals who wanted to share their experience and knowledge with making okonomiyaki.

I enjoyed the class alot. Instructions were easy to follow. I can easily bring this lesson back home and cook for myself and others during parties.

I enjoyed learning from them as well as helping the locals practice their english too.

Would definitely take another cooking class with Keiko if I could. Highly recommend.

Our instructor was awesome! Her and her assistant/mother shared their passion for cooking local version of okonomiyaki with our small group. They were super organized and the results were delish! So glad we decided to attend this class.

Late on our tour to Japan, we booked this class with Keiko....what a joyful experience it was. One Kiwi, one Aussie, one Englishman, a family of 3 from Singapore and a Japanese lady from Himeji. Along with Keiko and her team, not only did we learn to cook the wonderful Okonomiyaki but we also explored different ideas for what to include in future based on what is popular in each of the countries.

I was so excited to learn how to make okonomiyaki, but I did not expect to make friends while doing it.
I was so much fun, and the hosts were so sweet. 10/10 highly recommend.
