We really enjoyed this tour of Edinburgh New town and Dean village with our guide David. We visited places less frequented by tourists and learnt much about this area’s history and community. Packed with information and would highly recommend.

Our tour guide David is very knowledgeable about the history and layout of the city. The tour starts in New Town and then heads down to Dean Village, on the banks of the small river Leith. The river runs through the center of the city and flows into the sea. It's a beautiful wild area as you walk east from Dean Village. The tour enters the area down a steep road next to the Dean bridge and ends at Stockbridge, which is back at street level. Our tour started at 1:30 and ended at 4pm, and requires a moderate level of physical fitness.

Gains was a knowledgeable and pleasant guide who led us through some of the most beautiful greenways in Edinburgh and pointed out key locations and the General histories so background of the New Town. A high point of our visit.

Loved this tour company! We did two tours on different days with Local Eyes about two weeks ago. I loved the laid back personalities and the history knowledge. I would highly recommend them. This is only the second review I have ever written and I felt like it was needed because everyone should use them! We went as a family of four with two teenage kids. We all enjoyed it so much. Thank you Local Eyes for making our trip special!

This was my second Local Eyes tour in as many days, again with David as the guide. It felt like having a friend show us around his longtime hometown, pointing out lesser-known sights and sharing some of the knowledge he has gained over a couple of decades. And although he's the local expert, it's very much a conversation rather than a lecture. These tours added so much to my experience of visiting Edinburgh!
