I was lucky enough to go on two tours with Reykjavik Outventure. The south coast tour and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. I was also incredibly lucky to have both tours guided by Palli, who truly made the experience what it was. Palli was informative, genuinely loved Iceland and his Job, and made sure everyone had the best experience possible. Being able to find out the history behind the scenery from a local changes the perspective of what you see. Thank you Palli!
Favourites from the south coast tour was walking behind the water fall and the glacier.

Only criticism is tour changed last minute (Via email day before) so we didn't get to experience the viking house but the alternative stop in a different restaurant had amazing food so no complaints.

The tour was incredible, our guide was very friendly and always followed the itinerary, in addition to telling us a lot of history about Iceland, the wonderful landscapes, the spectacular climb to the glacier with all the equipment provided, to finish with a luxury dinner. The company is highly recommended since the organization and quality of the tour are unmatched.

This is my second time doing this tour (I came to Iceland in 2021 and loved it). This last time, the tour guide didn’t actually get out and visit the places with us. The tour didn’t have adequate equipment for everyone on the tour. And our driver seemed very disinterested in being there. We had our own car and I wish I had saved the money and just driven to the locations myself.

This is an amazing trip. We think far more interesting than the golden circle which we also did. The trip elements are all interesting. The black beach is unique and impressive. The waterfalls are stunning. The Viking house and awesome environment and the food exceptional. The glacier hike is the highlight and was truly a wonderful activity. The glacier is more beautiful that we could have imagined.
More than all that, Tobi was a fabulous guide. He talked about many interesting things about the places we went and Icelandic history. He ensured our glacier walk (which by the way is not a challenging walk) went at the pace suitable for others in our small group who were less able, and actually that was better for us too as we spent more time on the amazing glacier and took time to savour every moment.
We would go with Outventure again in a flash for their other trips too. They appear to have more thoughtful and interesting itineraries than other providers. The minibus was also very comfortable which as this includes quite a bit of driving is important too, but the views along the south coast are enticing to look at throughout.

What a wonderful day with Sigi… travelling around the South Coast to see some of the most spectacular waterfalls. Whilst this has a completely different feel in winter, it is stunning to see what nature does with water in this climate. Seeing gushing water, powering over the rock face, whilst immediately adjacent are some beautiful icicles. The colours in the landscape with snow, peeking rocks, freezing flowing water… breathtaking!

The black beach was amazing - stark contrast between the black sand with white snow. Watching the power of the waves, it is easy to see why there is a warning to treat them with caution (scary to see some people ignore that warning as they sought the “perfect” photo). Again the rock formations were spectacular.

Sadly, due to the weather, the road to the glacier was closed so we were unable to undertake the glacier walk.

Ending with a Viking dinner, spent with new friends (one of the couples we’d shared a previous tour with a couple of days earlier), was very enjoyable. Conversation revolved around sharing stories of our home countries and the comparisons with what we’d experienced in Iceland.

Sigi was a wonderful guide and his love of the natural beauty of Iceland, along with his in depth knowledge of the area, made for a highly enjoyable experience. We really appreciated all his insights.

Highly recommend this tour and Reykjavik Outventure to anyone looking for “things to do” during a stay in Iceland.

This is a small family owned outfitter that provides exceptional quality and personalized service. We did 2 tours with them (this one and the Northern Lights tour) and had the same guide both times - Tobbi. Tobbi was one of the best guides we've ever had. He was knowledgable, friendly, and patient. He made sure we had enough time at every stop, and really took time and provided extra patience with us during the glacier hike. We were a bit nervous starting the hike, but Tobbi never hurried us and made sure we made it to the top in a safe way. While the views on the tour were amazing, the Viking House restaurant may be the highlight of the trip. Authentic Icelandic food, and beer out of the Horn can't be beat. A fantastic experience all around. Be sure to ask for Tobbi, you won't be disappointed.
