The day was perfect, cold but beautiful, the captain and spotter were really helpful and knowledgeable. We saw whales, the experience to see such a huge creature in its natural environment was second to none.

Absolutely made my holiday. There's things you can book because everybody else does and then find out you can just get a local bus. You can't do that with this. This trip was extraordinary from the minute it started. The guide and crew are incredible, the boat is warm and comfortable and they will provide sea sickness tablets if you need. I can not fault anything about this, they'll even email you professional photos taken on your tour.

Did the whalewatchingakureyri cruise in January 24 and was delighted to see a pair of whales surface, dive and resurface over a couple of hours. We had a very knowledgeable guide who gave a great commentary on whale activity and information about the different types of whales. There were warm suits available for those that needed them as well as blankets and a hot drink. The guide also shared her photos of the trip (that were much better than mine!). The office is adjacent to the Hof Cultural Centre so you can’t miss it. A great experience and something ticked off the bucket list!

The first trip was so good, so I went for another trip!
Seeing two whales swimming in unison is incredible and then the ice breaking required to get back to port - wow.
The staff are great.

It was my second time joining this whale watching tour with this company and I had a fantastic experience. We were so lucky to see 2 humpback whales together so close to the town of Akureyri.
The crew was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
I felt safe at all times.
They offered us hot drinks and the option to wear overalls.
They also invited us to email them to get access to the photos taken by a member of the crew.

We visited on a Sunday in January and had a fantastic trip. The boat was comfortable and the tour guide was very informative and made the experience fun throughout. We were lucky to see three humpback whales and had plenty of time to view them coming up and down.
We were also pleased with how ethical the company was and how much they cared for the whales. A fantastic experience!

Went on a cold, calm winter day. Saw a humpback whale within minutes of setting out. This was the only whale that we saw but we had a very good look at it as it swam fairly close to the boat. Saw a seal on the ice, and a hot waterfall. The guide was passionate about wildlife and gave excellent commentary. The free hot drink from a machine was very welcome to warm up cold hands.
Note that if booking from the website, the description seems to indicate the use of a much larger boat which has a cafe on board. This does not appear to apply to winter tours.

I did this trip on Wed 7/12 and it was a wonderful experience. Caught lots of sightings of humpback whales and the commentary from our guide, Jacob, was excellent. His knowledge was very thorough and delivered with energy, humour and not too much. The skipper, Frederic(?), did a great job getting close to the whales and steadying the boat. I also wore one of the warm suits provided and it was brilliant. I was able to stay outside without feeling cold at all!! I did need help getting out of it but that was fun too!! The whole experience was great and my thanks also go to the office staff Bara and Ania who were really enthusiastic and welcoming. An excellent team effort. Thanks.

I am so glad we chose Elding Whale watching in Akureyri! My husband and I were so fortunate to have seen at least 12 whale sightings which is rare to what we have been told. The crew was very professional and Jacob was entertaining as well as knowledgeable, couldn't have asked for a better experience. They also provided pictures from the tour free of charge, so amazing! Coffee, tea, and water is also provided on the boat at no charge, very nice touch on a cold day! This tour was one of my favorites on our trip to Iceland, you will not regret booking with Elding!
