This trip will take you on one of Norway’s most popular and spectacular hikes. It is for good reason that this hike has gained its popularity with visitors to Norway and locals alike. Situated only a few hours from Stavanger, Pulpit Rock - or Preikestolen in Norwegian - is a towering cliff-plateau directly suspended over Lysefjorden. To stand (or sit) so close to the edge is probably the moment that hikers look forward to the most, although it is no easy deed. The top offers unobstructed views over the meandering blue fjord that was formed by the glaciers during the last Ice Age, making it a good spot to enjoy a photo session and possibly a light snack.

In the description on the booking.com they stated there will short boat trip and after this hike to the Preikestolen . In reality the guy just picked us up with their private bus and we went to the base camp . We payed for boat trip and hike but got the hike only . My advice - if you want save some money don’t go with them - just by tickets and go with regular bus - they going to the base camp every day from Stavanger .We asked our guide - what about boat trip? - he said wow I hear this for the first time ! I need to ask my boss ( he never did ) . By the way the hike was great but little bit disappointed about the boat trip to the fjord( never happened) . ( I have screenshots of the description - for the case if they change or delete it ).

Great experience!
The guide was very friendly and told us a lot of interesting facts about hikes, habits and life in Norway.
I would repeat for sure. The hike was not too hard and it has great infrastructure on the start point.

Absolutely great experience with our guide Marius. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. He is quite a traveler himself and shared a lot of interesting information about Norway during this hike. He was also very attentive to make sure that we move our own pace and kept us safe.

The guide did the minimum. He picked us up, drove us to Pulpit Rock, climbed with us, brought us down then drove us back. He never even introduced himself when we got picked up so we do not know his name. When got picked up, there was not greeting or introduction. He just asked for our names. No commentaries or safety tips during the climb. When we got to Pulpit Rock, he just laid down and rested with no communications on how long are we staying there. When asked how long do we have at Pulpit Rock, he said as long as we want since he gets paid by the hour. When dropping us off, he did not even got out of the van to open the door for the first guest to be dropped off.

Fantastic hike where were we had a great guide. Most memorable were the views on top of the Pulpit Rock, but certainly also the hike towards the top with many great views. Early on the season is to be recommended as there are not that many people climbing at the same time.

Very good experience, always guided. When it was necessary to stop, the guide gave us time. We had lunch at the top and then began the descent. Incredible

The walk was extremely worthwhile. Although the weather was not so good, a little bit cloudy, windy and raining. The view above at the pulpit rock was extremely beautifully magnificent. Not only the view at the pulpit rock but also the view of the Fjord. Strongly recommend the tour.
