Semi Surfing Lessons are 2 hours with a maximum of 2 students with 1 dedicated surf instructor. Great for friends or couples. All surf lessons include top quality surf tech surfboards, Lycra rash guards and instruction on land and in the water. Lessons are geared to instruct the student in the fundamentals of surfing.

My sister and I wanted to attempt to surf not having much confidence in our abilities. We saw the North Shore Surf Girls truck and met Carol and felt comfortable immediately and booked a semi-private lesson. She was so helpful giving us good instruction before we got in the water and once we paddled out she made it so easy and non-intimidating for us to catch waves. Both my sister and I accomplished our goals of standing up and riding waves in on the North Shore. I highly recommend North Shore Surf Girls. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. By the way I’m 59 and my sister is 61– now we are surfer girl grandmas!!!! :)

We had a great time with Carol. I was with my two teens and the 3 of us were able to hop on the board and surf the wave almost instantaneously! Carol was able to guide us to take the good waves and gave us individual adapted tips after each wave. We loved it and truly recommend!

Excellent surf lesson for the whole family at a reasonable price. Technique session on the beach followed by one on one instruction in the water. Extra care and attention for awareness of water/reef safety and working with children was highly appreciated. Strongly recommend this company.

I have learned surfing in both indoor and outdoor practice gyms, but this is undoubtedly the best place to teach!
Don't be afraid of the real sea, the waves here are even easier to control than those in the practice gym. You can stand and walk on the beach, no need to worry about safety issues (the coach said: super safe!)
The two groups started at 9 o'clock, there were 2 coaches (and Ms. Carol who came to help later), and a photographer who helped to take pictures (her photos are great! Please don't worry about buying)
My friend and I successfully stood up and glided on the waves today~ We rushed in the waves of Hawaii! Although the weather was not very good, it was really cool...
Please don't hesitate to choose this course, because even people like us who were born in a city without an ocean can succeed.
There are three points to note: the sea water here is very salty; there may be traffic jams nearby outside of the morning; the specific meeting point information will be available in the morning of the dayℹ️

The experience was top notch! I booked the experience two days earlier and was excited that they had room for us. The morning of, we received more specific instructions and asked if we would be willing to move our time up an hour (which worked perfectly for us). I loved supporting a woman owned business and anticipated a woman instructor.
Though shocked to learn they had multiple instructors some of which (maybe just one) are male, Josh was amazing! He gave us a great experience and we absolutely loved learning how to surf. I was initially nervous about riding a famous North Shore wave, the cove we learned in was very safe and fun!
Highly recommend! They provide you a rash guard . I would encourage some yoga skin tight leggings as well as to not get rash burn from sitting to paddling on your board.

I brought my adult kids and my grandkids and these ladies did a remarkable job teaching them all. Very impressive! Every one of them--from 10 to 42 years old-- was thrilled to be out on the waves. We will definitely come back and do it again!

Great coach. She took her time with us and was very supportive in the water. Obviously very experienced, as she able to get 2 middled aged total newbies almost on our feet surfing. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for surf lessons on the North Shore

My two sons and I had a 2 hour lesson from Josh in July. Josh was a fantastic instructor. He was encouraging and patient with us. I didn’t do that well because I got seasick and had to quit mid way into our lesson. However my boys did really well and were able to ride wave after wave. They were happy that they learned to surf and on top of of that, it was on the North Shore! Thanks Josh for your great work!

Carol (owner) and Aimee (manager) were our surf guides and we were in good hands. They provided differentiated instruction for all six of us (two adults and four teen/young adults at differing fitness levels). In two hours, all six of us made it to a stand and rode some waves. It was nice to support a female-owned and run company and they interacted well with all us and were great with "older" first timers. This was our kids' favorite activity of our Hawaiian vacation. And super-cute women's t-shirts for sale too. (Wear loads of sunscreen on the backs of your legs - all six of us fried).
