If you want to have a wonderful introduction to Lisbon, this is the tour for you.
We'll start the tour visiting Alfama, the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon.The Phoenicians, the Romans, the Visigoths, the Moors were some of the civilizations who lived around here and have left their influence until Lisbon was conquered by Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal in 1147.
The charming narrow streets, the famous “azulejos” on the walls, the clothes hanging on the balconies, the old fashion trams, the many steps up and down, the delicious local food, the friendly locals and the soul of the Portuguese culture, Fado.
Later, we'll visit the areas called Baixa and Chiado, the romantic neighborhoods in Lisbon that have been the meeting point of famous artists, writers, poets and politicians since the XVIII century. They are still considered the heart of the city with its imposing buildings, historical monuments and the most cosmopolitan areas.

A private tour is the way to go! Sara, our tour guide, is so friendly, outgoing and knowledgable about Lisboa - The City of Seven Hills. And let me tell you, "hills" there were! The tour was 3 hours and she walked us through the various neighborhoods of Lisboa, engaging in wonderful conversation about the Portugese people, their history and culture. We walked thru (and up!) the different neighborhoods of Lisboa - including Alfama where tradition still lives. Sara provided insight on the the politial history of Portugal both prior to and post WWII; the origin and love of Fado music and their love of Wine and Ginjinha -- a wonderful cherry liquor -- which we happliy sampled in Alfama which was home made. At the end of our tour we truly felt that we had made a new friend in Sara and our experience with her was the highlight of our trip. This is not your typical run of the mill city tour. You won't be disappointed.

Shiri was a wonderful tour guide! We loved the tour - everything from the site-seeing, to find the best pastel de nata, to sampling ginjinha was great. Couldn’t have hoped for a better “Welcome to Lisbon!”

We had a walking tour with Ann-Elisa and she was great! She was very knowledgeable and we saw a lot of the main sites of Lisbon.

Walter gave us the history to enjoy our next three days in Lisbon ♥️. He was animated, showed his love for Portugal and the history he was teaching. It was an amazing experience!

Kleiber was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the Lisbon area and shared it all with personality and charm. He was very attentive to our needs and stopped along the way for a coffee and pastries. We would have missed out on an intimate view of the City and history without him. Absolutely loved him!

We learned so much about Lisbon on this tour. Highly recommend doing on your first full day there because your guide can provide recommendations and you’ll be able to get an idea of where you’d like to spend additional time during your stay. We learned a lot on this tour & became more comfortable with navigating the neighborhoods since this was a walking tour.
Note: This tour involves a lot of walking up/down hills and steep stairs.
