We took a Walking Street Art tour of Athens with Andreas from Alternative Athens and loved it. He taught us how to see beyond the graffiti and recognize the talent and social and political commentary behind both small and large works of art. An accomplished veteran of the street art movement, he also spoke of the value of this art form as an important outlet for disaffected youth. It was a fascinating walk and highly recommend it for a look at the "Other" side of modern Greek culture and society.

We had an amazing time with Andreas! I chose to do the tour with a friend visiting from Germany, expecting to have a casual walk around the city and maybe see a few art pieces I'd missed. Instead, Andreas treated us to an in-depth view of the street art culture, the past and current trends, and how the recent financial and immigrant crises have shaped the movement. Highly recommended for tourists, as well as Athenians interested in seeing a different side of the city!

I was so lucky to meet up with Nikos! He took me to some really great neighborhoods and educated me on Greek street art. Nikos is passionate about the artists in his city and it shows in his depth of knowledge on the subject. I have done private street art tours in Paris, Barcelona, London, and Lisbon, but Nikos was by far the best guide that I've had. This tour was a major highlight of my trip- thank you, Nikos!!

Pavlina was fantastic! She taught us so much history of the artists, the evolution of street art around Greece, and highlighted some of the historic sites we passed. She knew so much about the mainstream to the unknown artists, and gave us so much information as to the inspiration behind their work. The tour was amazing!!

Nikos, our guide who studied art in England, led us throughW parts of Athens where tourists normally would not go. We learned about the lively Athens street art (not graffiti) which features excellent artists, be it INO or VASMOU or MARTINEZ. Without tour, you would not find their street art, however, it would be a pity to miss this side of Athens. Nikos explained the art, let us discuss it and put it into the political, cultural context. This tour was a highlight of our stay in Athens and we all - parents, three kids - can recommend it wholeheartedly. Thanks Nikos, it was great!

Fascinating tour through neighborhoods you might not otherwise see in Athens. Street art was amazing and conversations with Nikos were enlightening. Highly recommend. These local tours are absolutely the best way to see Athens.

My friend and I were lucky to be the only ones on the tour and have Nikos all to ourselves who took us through a couple of neighborhoods, showed us great street art and taught us a lot about Athens and it’s street art scene. Highly recommend

Nikos gave us a great tour of some really interesting and beautiful street art works in Athens. Nikos is a very nice and knowledgeable guy, who could give us a lot of background information.
I would highly recommend this tour if you're interested in modern Greek art and visit some areas that you might not see otherwise.
