1. Oia's Main Street
After a convenient pick up head to the northern part of the island and embrace the best of Oia village. Unique in every way with the most spectacular sunset, iconic blue domed churches, scenic pathways and stunning views. One of the most photographed places in Greece, Oia is situated on the top of an impressive cliff and offers a spectacular view over the volcano and the Aegean sea. The village has several cultural attractions such as: The Maritime museum, traces of a Venetian fortress and Captains houses. You may as well explore the large shopping area and relax in one of the several open-air cafes. The world famous sunset in Oia is available by choosing an afternoon departure.
2. Akrotiri Archaeological Site
(Optional visit) Explore Akrotiri Archaeological Site and go back into time to marvel the secrets and wonders of this lost ancient city. This 4000 year old Bronze age settlement prospered for centuries before being eradicated by a great volcanic eruption. Eventually it was buried in Volcanic Ash, which ironically helped to protect the artifacts from being destroyed. Stroll through the ancient walls and take a glimpse of a Minoan town with the 3-story buildings, well preserved frescoes, an elaborate drainage system and much more.
3. Red Beach
Afterwards see the Red beach, the most unique natural beach of the island, where red is the dominant color. Take amazing pictures of the enormous volcanic rocks and the steep hills that create a captivating wild scenary. This wonderful volcanic landscape will capture your complete attention. While at the Red beach, you may optionally follow an authentic Greek meal in a nearby seaside traditional tavern, where local recipes have been passed through family generations.
4. Pyrgos
Discover Pyrgos village, the old capital of Santorini, known as the island’s “historic monument”. Built on the top of a hill, this settlement holds a 16th century Venetian castle. A charming location to wander around, built by the locals to fortify the area into small alleys and circle shape roads. The village is surrounded by vineyards, blue domed churches, narrow cave houses with charming balconies and pebbled paths.
5. Santo Winery
(Optional visit) Santorini is well known for its long wine-making tradition. The island is covered with vineyards and its volcanic soil and unique climate gives a special flavor to the grapes. First off, Santorini is one of the most beautiful places on earth, physically AND Culturally! Second, there is NO ONE better to show this incredible island than Thanos! He was so knowledgeable and friendly! But even more, he felt like family! He communicated perfectly every detail but somehow exceeded every expectation but a long shot! We laughed and shared a beautifully intimate day together and I couldn’t have asked for anything more! It was perfection!

Spent all day touring Santorini with our guide Thanos who I believe was the best tour guide we have ever had! We wanted to shop, eat, drink wine and see the beauty of Santorini. He delivered all of that and more! My favorite part was seeing the old village of Megalochori and the simple way of life that the native Santorini people live. We fell in love with Santorini and its beautiful crystal clear blue water, white and blue landscape, and fresh sea breeze!

We had the most phenomenal tour with Thanos. His attention to detail and care far exceed any expectations, and he has a true passion for the island and all there is to show for it. I highly, highly recommend touring with him— you will not meet someone more kind and engaging. He adds a personal touch that is absolutely necessary to experience the culture and rich history. This was an Amazing Tour, Kept us informed and SAFE, but showed us the best spots for pictures and most BEAUTIFUL views.

Thanos, our driver and guide, was awesome in every respect…on time and where the pick up spot was pre-arranged. His family has continuously resided on Santorini for 10 generations, and so he knows Santorini like the back of his hand. He collaborated in setting a fabulous plan for the day while staying flexible and offering suggestions. He gently kept us moving and on time. In our 6 hours, we toured about 80% of the island without feeling rushed. He took us to the newest and oldest villages, pointed out the best photo ops, filled in as our group of 6’s photographer, added informative history and background info, fielded all of our questions. He even took us into a cave that was typical of where his grandparents lived and helped us visualize what life was like. We saw red, black, and white sand beaches, the highest vista points on the island. He warned us where we needed to be alert for potential pickpocketing although we didn’t encounter it. Would love to double our rating to 10 stars if possible; he’s a true pro and his passion for this island paradise shined through…thanks much Thanos!!!

We had a fabulous day in Santorini! Michael was an expert guide. It was remarkable how he was able to navigate around the island from Fira to Oia, then Megalochori and Akrotiri, while strategically avoiding the crowds and tour buses. We experienced the best of the countryside, seaside, stunning views and historic sites. Thanks Michael.
