Hotel Pickup at 8.00am anywhere in central Munich. We then head straight for the castle to AVOID the crowds.
Once you have toured the inside of the castle and seen Mary's bridge and our "secret spot" for taking photos we walk back down and depart for Austria to have the best Schnitzel or Fish lunch on the banks of Plansee.

Alternatively we can also do an Alpine Coaster ride in the Alps close to Oberammergau which includes a chairlift ride up the mountain with amazing views.
Ettal Monastery is our last stop before heading back to Munich.
Back to your hotel by 6:30pm.

It was the highlight of our trip to Munich. Being with a guide from 8am -6pm you really have to have a good personality. Sigmund was very good and kept us engaged with conversation. He was thoughtful with what stops to make, helped guide us through the tourist stops and gave us plenty of time at each place to enjoy. Would definitely book another trip here again.

We had the most fun and the day was full of surprises. The best part was not having to plan anything! Our driver did everything for us and we visited. I know it’s a little on the pricy side - but it really was a fun, stress free day. Highly recommend!

We were a group of 6 women and we really enjoyed our tour. We got to see a ton and it was a very memorable day! We would recommend for small groups wanting to see castles and more of Bavaria.

Alex was a great guide who provided excellence to our experience! It was a great experience and he kept the tour on track, including lunch at a special restaurant in a wonderful village. We would definitely recommend this tour and guide again!

Alex was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. He was accommodating while still ensuring we saw as much as possible. He even gave us dinner recommendations in Munich. We will definitely book with Alex again!

Fabulous visit to the amazing Neuschwanstein castle and other beautiful and unique locations as well. Highly recommended!

Bruce was the BEST tour guide! He went above and beyond! He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He didn’t just do the basics and felt like an old friend or family member. Been on a lot of tours but he was the best. Stellar day!

This was an amazing day. The drive through the Bavarian countryside covered in snow was beautiful, but nothing in comparison to the magnificence of Neuschwanstein Castle - simple spectacular. Our guide Seigmund was excellent, engaging, funny, knowledgeable and frankly contributed so much to ensuring we had a great time. After the Castle, we deviated from the "planned trip" deciding to go through Fussen to see the waterfalls, crossed into Austria ending up at Garmische-Partenkirchen. We had lunch at the base of the 1936 Olympic Ski Jumping area and then spend the afternoon walking all through Garmisch. Amazing highlight and an incredible day. Seigmund was excellent and I highly recommend asking for him to serve as a tour guide.

The hours spent with Alex, our guide, was phenomenal and this tour easily became the highlight of our trip to Germany. My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and it could not have been like that without Alex's charm to present the beauty of the German countryside with amazing facts and stories. The tour started on time, the expectations were set out clearly and we set forth from our hotel. Alex's commentary as we set along was perfect and I appreciated how he tailored the commentary as he got to know us better. Seeing the Alps for the first time while we were on the Autobahn truly built the anticipation for what was coming our way! I have taken a million pictures which will stay with me forever as cherished memories of German countryside - seeing the farms along the way with cows, reindeers, sheeps etc., small German villages and architecture, the frescoes in Oberammergau etc. etc. The castles were fine masterpieces only to be second to the biggest masterpiece, the Alps along the Plansee in Austria and fortunately it snowed a little when we crossed into Austria giving us breathtaking views of Alpine forests and lakes. No doubt, I will do this again if I ever visit this part of Germany and I recommend Mike's tours for your adventures with a trusted partner.
