1. Scenic Bike Ride & Brewery Lunch (not incl.) with Castle Tour

Relax on a scenic bike ride through the picturesque Bavarian countryside with a leisurely ride on flat terrain, suitable for all skill levels.
Return to a local brewery for a great lunch paired with local beer (lunch not incl.).
Hike or ride the bus up to Mary's Bridge for breathtaking views arriving at the castle for your tour.

2. Skip the lines and explore the majestic Hohenschwangau Castle instead (add. €23.50 pp, subject to availability). Our guides will ensure you arrive on time with pre-purchased tickets.

Castle tickets (€23.00 for adults, €2.50 for children) are not incl. in the tour price and can be purchased in cash from your guide on the day.

Please bring cash for castle tickets and any additional expenses.

The Tour Concludes @ 7:30 PM, arriving back at our starting point..

WHAT'S INCLUDED

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Isartor
We start our tour in the heart of Munich - easy to reach by bus, train or taxi as it is located close to the Hofbrauhaus.
2. Romantic Road
We pass through some parts of this scenic road on the way to the castle first thing in the morning with majestic view of the Alps and the Bavarian countryside.

Our bike ride part of the tour begins here after a short safety briefing. Along the way we will see spectacular views of the Bavarian & Austrian Alps and stop for some great "Insta - Photo's" and have the opportunity to swim in an Alpine Lake. We then make our way back, store the bikes and then have our pre-ordered lunch and locally brewed beer in a beer garden whilst enjoying the views of both the Hohenschwangau Castle and the Neuschwanstein castle. In case of rain, we get to sit inside the brewerey. Should you not want to do the bike ride then you will have gotten off at the Ticket office and rejoined the group after our lunch back at the Ticket office, four hours later.
4. Schwansee
We ride our bikes to this lake where we can also swim in summer so please bring swimming gear. This is optional and should you not choose to swim then one can take photos of both Hohenschwangau castle and Neuschwanstein castle or just enjoy the great outdoors.
5. Infostelle Hohenschwangau
We get to see the village of Hohenschwangau as we begin our hike up to the castle and Mary's bridge. Please bring good shoes for the hike up. If you choose not to hike, there is a bus that takes you up to Mary's bridge at an additional cost of 3,50€ per person.
6. Schloss Hohenschwangau
The regular tour gets to see this Castle from the outside but you can opt not to do the bike ride and instead tour this castle. Tickets can also be obtained from your guide on the day at an additional cost of 22€ per person - only if available. Due to high demand this may not always be the case. No standing in line here either.
7. Schloss Neuschwanstein
Discover one of Bavaria's most spectacular Castles with our experienced guides who are with you every step of the way. Take a bus to the top or enjoy a hike through a forest to get to Mary's Bridge for an unforgettable experience and photo opportunities galore. From here we make our way to the entrance of the castle to begin your guided tour, which can only be done with our "skip the line" tickets at a cost of 18,50€ pp (this includes an online booking fee which is not shown on the actual ticket). Your guide will sort this out with you in person on the bus on the way to the castle which avoids all the hassles you will encounter when you do this on your own.
8. Alpsee
We see this serene lake whilst we hike to the castle.
9. Queen Mary's Bridge (Marienbrucke)
Your guide will get you to the bridge on time so you do not miss your castle entry time. Please be aware that in high season it may happen that the line is too long to get onto the actual bridge which, should we wait would mean we miss our castle entry time. This will be your guides discretion and does not happen to often, in which case we take you to our " Secret Spot" for a photo of the bridge and the castle so you do not miss out altogether.

Tyler did an amazing job of connecting with all of the guests. It's an amazing tour that is worth taking the whole day. You get history, beautiful sites, stunning views, a little comedic relief, and a lot of great exercise—it wasn't too hard for this 59- and 60-year-old, though our 20+ year-old sons left us in the dust! Our family enjoyed this tour a lot, and we are so glad that we did it on our last day in Germany! From the leisurely bike ride, to a great lunch, to meeting some fascinating people and of course seeing the castle. Well organized, safe and a lot of fun!

This was our second of three tours with Mikes Bikes tours. Visiting Neuschwanstein Castle was like stepping into a fairytale. The majestic architecture against the backdrop of the Bavarian Alps left our family in awe. Exploring the interior was a journey through history and fantasy. Before the beautiful hike to the castle, we had a lake bike ride that offered a serene escape into nature. The crystal-clear waters mirrored the sky, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Cycling along the picturesque paths, surrounded by lush greenery, was blissful. It was a perfect balance of cultural immersion and outdoor adventure. Neuschwanstein and the bike ride around the lake created memories that will last a lifetime. Our tour guide, Tyler, kept us on schedule and provided in-depth history during the bus ride, bike ride, and up to the castle, preparing us for what would be an amazing adventure. He provided many tips and tricks to maximize our castle tour and made this excursion memorable.

This is an excellent way to see neushchwanstein castle. All the other tours were basically a taxi to the castle. This was an experience. The bike ride was perfect for my kids. Not too long and not too short. A casual ride in the country. The hidden lake was beautiful, fun, and has a local snack area to get a beverage. Lunch was great and the skip the line to the castle was perfect. The trip was well organized and the tour operator “ I’m not great with names. )I think it was Tyler and his assistant were knowledgeable, fun and kept the tour running smoothly without making you feel rushed. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to see areas outside of the city.

If I could leave 10 stars I would. Tyler, the guide, was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. He shared fascinating and funny stories. I really enjoyed the bike ride. We had ample time to explore and take pictures. If you are planning to take this tour - bring your bathing suit to swim in the Alpine Lake! You won’t regret it!

My friends and I were put with our tour guide, Tyler, and he certainly exceeded expectations -- what a knowledgable, personable, and fun guide. The Neuschwanstein grounds look as if they came directly out of a fairytale (see pics), and the alpine lake/bike ride will go down as one of my favorite international experiences. The bus made the trip up seamless and easy. Thanks to Tyler for making this such a special experience.

We had a phenomenal day on this tour. It was a nice drive to the castles where our guide, Tyler, gave us a little bit of history to go along with what we would be seeing. We chose to do the bike ride over seeing the other castle, and despite the rain that came in the middle of the ride, it was still incredibly enjoyable. The castle tour itself was quick (given by the people at the castle themselves, not our guide who was with us the whole way), but overall it was such a fun experience. I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting Munich/the Bavarian region!

This is the tour to book! I promise I did so much research into reviews from the other tours and they all had their downsides (awkward waiting times, too expensive etc) but Mike’s bike tours does it right.

Our tour guide Tyler was amazing, and the whole staff was so helpful. It was very rainy and they gave us ponchos and let us use their portable charger when my phone almost died. They also give you the inside info on where to go to take great photos and avoid the crowds. The bike tour was fun even in the pouring rain, and they are very knowledgeable.

Tips/ Notes: the meeting point is ‘Mikes Bike Shop’ I wish that was in the description since we were afraid we were in the wrong place. Also you MUST bring cash Euros!!! I can’t emphasize this enough, they need to pay for the tickets in cash upfront to be able to go into the castle. Also the stores around the castle take cash too. I reccomend bringing 50€ per person.

Overall I can’t stress enough how this specific tour is the best bang for your buck. And the castle is more beautiful than I imagined.

What a great and memorable day! Despite a severe rain warning in Munich, I have to say I had an awesome time. Tyler and Carina were amazing - giving me a rain poncho when I didn’t have one, and lending me a jacket when I was freezing cold in the mountains. They both provided great tips and insight about the tour and the city. Great experience and a highlight of my Europe trip.
