Absolutely great service. We had used this tour company 20 years ago and recommend them to everyone we know going to Italy. This time around, we had to plan a visit in less than a week, and they went out of their way to help us customize a one day tour that started in Rome, went through Assisi, and dropped us off in Venice that evening. Our driver, Lucio, was fantastic. He got us everywhere safely and even arranged lunch for us at a local restaurant. I cannot recommend DriverInRome enough.

Alex Paolini is a specialist in corralling old ladies. From moment I met him, with a gift of pastries in his hand and a footstool to help access into his van, I knew I was in safe hands. Everything was taken care of, morning coffee in a garden, traditional Roman pizza for lunch, even hauling me up and down steps. He is the friend in Rome I have always wanted to meet.

Assisi is beautiful, the churches are awe inspiring. It was wonderful to get out of Rome and away from the rest of the tourists to have a peaceful pilgrimage to these very venerable sites. The weather was chilly, but it was a beautiful day. Our driver Fabio was great to chat with and provided us information about all the locations we visited. Such a beautiful time, we would love to do it again some day.

Our driver Alessandro (Alex) was great. He's a fantastic driver with so much knowledge of the entire area. Not only that but his strong art history background, architecture knowledge and local insights make for a great way to spend the day. Plus he loves cooking and fishing, both with a passion. He was even able to use his vast knowledge and contacts with the wineries to get us a private tour.
The only thing that we would have done differently would be to have requested an 8am pickup instead of a 10am pickup due to traffic in Rome.
Overall I would highly recommend this to everyone and would also recommend Alex!

Mateo was our driver to Assisi and he was fabulous!! He was excellent to accommodate all of our needs. He was very knowledgeable of the area and took us to an amazing out of the way restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend this tour and Mateo for a guide!

First, Matteo was prompt and greeted us before we even had a chance to look for him. Next, he opened the door for each of us and so we knew he cared. He proceeded to drive us safely to Assisi and pointed out many sites along the way.
Matteo filled us in on the history and culture of the areas we traveled through and made the 2 hour drive quite pleasant.
As a driver in Italy, one can not give a tour. However, before we left the car he gave us an overview and oriented us so we went off on our walking tour which we chose to do. He was willing to drive us to the various sites, however we chose to walk. He then asked how we wanted to handle lunch, quick or seated. We chose seated, and had a delicious lunch at a restaurant that was frequented by locals. In all, it was a day we’ll spent and we greatly appreciated Matteo’s professionalism and hospitality.
