Auschwitz-Birkenau - the largest concentration and extermination camp founded by Nazi Germans, established in 1940 is a reminder of what happened in Europe during World War II. It is a place where minimum 1 million people died. Since 1979 it has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and it is the only place of this kind found on it.
After the visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau or before it (the sequence varies depending on a particular day) head to Wieliczka Salt Mine. See carvings made out in the salt, sculptures, reliefs, chandeliers and chapels. This place is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, it teaches about the work of miners. There is 800 steps to take down (however there are stops on the way and handrails) and after the visit a lift brings you up.
Dear traveler, from March 2020 there is a new law in Auschwitz-Birkenau and booking with a lot of time in advance is the only way to be sure about going on this tour. Buying the ticket directly there is almost impossible.

The organization was very good. Maciek coordinated the pick up and drop off elegantly and punctually. Due to some difficulties getting an Auschwitz tour, he found us a good lunch spot to kill some time.
Good thought about doing the Salt Mine first, I don't think any of our group would have enjoyed it after Auschwitz.

A unique experience. Very beautiful and structured place. The tour guide was very friendly and funny. I also can mention our driver Piotr who makes suggestions about restaurants, tours and places to visit in Krakow and let us very comfortable during the trip.

Everything was great. The tour-guide was very nice and had a great attitude the whole time and brought the group’s moral up when things were a bit gloomy after auschwitz.

My spouse, myself and a friend of us went on the tour on the 2nd of April. We would just like to express our appreciation for a well-planned, professional tour. Allow us to mention our tour driver's name: Piotr. He was an amazing driver and "tour guide". He drove extremely carefully and was at each and every pick-up point precisely on time. It was fine, our driver Piotr was on time and accommodating. I find it a bit strange that the driver was ‘just’ a driver and the tour itself actually started at the place where we were grouped together with a much bigger group. Over-all an okay experience.
