Enjoy a day trip into the world of Downton Abbey on a 9-hour coach tour from London. The tour features behind the scenes information, scenes from the show itself played on the bus as you head out of London. Your first stop on tour will be the charming village of Bampton used as Downton village where you will receive a guided tour before heading to the jewel in the crown of the popular TV show - Highclere Castle or Downton Abbey as fans of the show will know it as.

Loved both the village tour and of Downton Abby. Michael did a great job of explaining the history as well as behind the scenes of theTV series.

Despite some light rain and gusty winds, we had a wonderful time seeing Bampton (Downton Abbey village) and Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey). Michael was an informative and entertaining guide and Dracos was a great driver even in the poor weather conditions.

Really enjoyed this tour. Michael, our tour guide, was excellent. You get to tour the house and grounds and village. It was well worth it if you love the show.

This tour was disappointing. It started on a bad note when we were piled into a mini bus that had been outfitted with too many extra seats so we were totally crammed in with NO leg room. The mini coach tour description was a bit deceptive, assuring in writing "a maximum of 15 persons" yet 18 were on our tour. The extra people would not have been such a big deal had we not been so crammed in. This was especially unacceptable given that 5 hours of the day were in transit! We wasted a half hour at an unnecessary rest stop one hour later - we were encouraged to buy lunch there yet it turned out there were plenty of food options at Highclere, making the stop unnecessary. As a result, we ended up being rushed in Bampton, having only 20 minutes to explore on our own after being told some interesting things to see (which there was no time for). Our tour guide was nice but definitely could have provided more substance about Downton Abbey. I'm not sure he knew the series that well as he made a few errors in story line and characters. The high point of the tour was of course getting to spend time at Highclere, on our own. All told, this tour was OK but it certainly could use some improvements -- we felt the hand of big business substituting quantity for quality. We would not do a tour with this entity again.

Tour and guide were great. Would recommend and do again. The minibus was a sardine can experience. I am on the short side and my knees were pressed up against the seat in front. My wife had to swivel her knees out into the aisle for comfort.

The guide was great, Wayne I think. He fed us a constant stream of knowledge while we headed to Bampton and Highclere. I would highly recommend this tour, well worth the price.

We were so lucky to visit Highclere on this gorgeous fall day when the festival was occurring. In spite of the overly expensive cab ride from the Newbury train station (15 minutes @£40 each way, we were treated to a tour of Highclere, the setting for the PBS Downton Abbey. The castle is actually someone’s home, and exactly like to series. It was lovely and an unexpected treat.

We attended the Highclere Castle Movie themed event In Sept 2023 and had a most wonderful experience. Upon our arrival was a beautiful vintage carousel surrounded by vast and immaculate grounds. The tour was wonderful with the added bonus of the Downton Abbey memorabilia and clothing made it that much more magical. We ordered the picnic lunch for 4 in advance and were so pleased with the beautiful presentation and quality of the food. We dined under a beautifully decorated open air tent amongst generous floral arrangements and beautifully laid table scapes. Much attention to detail throughout. A lovely dance floor along side a full orchestra with professional singers and dancers entertained and instructed the audience on the various vintage dance routines. Mrs Carnarvon was in attendance and her presence demonstrated the sincerity and care that the Carnarvon family have. We greatly appreciate all that was shared with us and much appreciate their generosity and dedication.
