This tour will take you to the ruins of Herculaneum, the ancient roman city that got buried by the muds and the ashes of the eruption in 79 AD. This was a center for aristocrats and intellectuals of the Empire who mainly had their holiday homes along the seaside nearby the busy city of Naples. You will be stunned by the exquisite designs of mosaics, frescos and decorations still visible to date.
After pick up in Naples we'll reach Pompeii where we'll have a delicious lunch break in a local restaurant with a 3 course tourist menu, drinks not included.
Then at the end we'll depart to Herculaneum excavations.

The tour manager will meet you by the nearest pick-up point to your accommodation between 11:00 and 11:45 AM (see timetable) and this tour will last approximately 5 hours in total. Check our full list of complimentary scheduled pick up points.

We were satisfied with the service due to the punctuality of the driver Ciro and the professionalism and courtesy of the companion Serena. The excursion was very interesting and the archaeological site is definitely worth it! When I return to Naples I will also rely on this agency for other trips.

A buddy and I met our bus in Naples to ride out to Herculaneum (aka "Ercolano" by the locals), catching a nice lunch along the way. Our guide named Silvana spoke very good English and knows a lot about the history, culture, and geology surrounding this ancient sister city of Pompeii. Our Italian friend said that Herculaneum is like Pompeii was 20 years ago...quieter and equally amazing.

We were told to be at our meeting place at 11:15 . At 11:25 a car pulled up and the driver looked at our paper and escorted us into his van. Then, upon further review, he told us we were NOT supposed to be in his van, and he had us exit the van and he said our ride would be there at Noon. I called the company (which was not Viator, evidently they sub out these tours) and was told that there was a change and I should've received an email alerting me about that. I check my email several times every day - no one sent me any email. We cut another activity short so that we could be at the meeting point at 11:15 and then we stood waiting for 45 minutes on a busy street corner. Not cool. At Noon we were picked up and transported to a restaurant where we had to wait for the rest of the group. We Asked for bread, were told no, we had to wait for the rest of the group. At 1:15 we were served a lunch that was average. Then we went to our tour of Herculaneum. The entrance fee was not included in this tour (i guess we didn't read the fine print) so even though we were with a tour group, everyone had to stand in the ticket line and buy their own ticket. I would estimate we were in Herculaneum for about 1.5 hours. This is advertised as a Half-Day trip and I guess TECHNICALLY it may be considered that. But the "meat" of the tour was Herculaneum and we only spent about 1.5 hours inside. Hardly a Half-Day. I felt misled and very disappointed. I would recommend you skip this tour. We were not pleased at all. Very disappointed.

Well where do I begin...not only did we wait 45 minutes for two tourists, the mini van stalled 3 times along the way. I suggest you take the train from Central Station for 2 Euro and not pay 70 which does not include entrance fee which was NEVER mentioned until you were on the bus. Napoli City Vision will NEVER take you again and consider changing your policy on wait time...my vacation is expensive and my time valuable I was unable to see another site because of your mismanagement and complete incompetence as well as lack of consideration for your other "guests" Thanks for ruining my last day in Pompei...the plus side is the guide tried to do his best to make it a pleasant experience. Napoli City Vision you don't deserve the guides you have, without them you would certainly be out of business!!!
