Since James and Andrew opened our doors in 2012, we have been working hard to preserve one of New Zealand’s most unique and untouched forests. We created this experience to transport you into a Jurassic world, showcasing New Zealand’s unique plants and wildlife. You help this project; your entry contributes back to our conservation efforts to save this ancient world. Thank you for your support!

You will be part of a small group (maximum 10 per group) with two of our knowledgeable kiwi guides who will delight you, making sure you safely enjoy every moment. Ask as many questions as you'd like and capture the moments with pictures and videos (although we have free photos of your experience for you after the tour).

• Availability: This tour is for small groups of no more than 10 people. We will do our best to book you for your preferred departure time but due to other bookings, this may not always be available. If your preferred time is not available, we will contact you to offer an alternative departure
• Rotorua Canopy Tours Risk Disclosure Statement: Rotorua Canopy Tours is an adventure activity that has risks and the potential to encounter hazards due to the nature of the activity and the unpredictable natural environment in which the tour operates. Rotorua Canopy Tours operates a strict safety management system that is audited to New Zealand standards and best practice for adventure activities including weather operating parameters to reduce exposure to these risks and hazards; however, we cannot completely mitigate all of them. It is important you are aware of these and that these risks and hazards may lead to injury, serious harm or death. Specific hazards and risks include but are not limited to vehicle accidents, falls from height, zipline collisions, entanglement in equipment, slips and falls, falling debris, staff errors, suspension trauma, exposure to typical NZ conservation practices such as trapping and adverse weather effects due to varying environmental conditions that can change quickly and without much warning. Weather can include but not limited to thunderstorms, strong winds and gusts, rain, heavy rain, hail and occasionally snow, as well as extreme temperatures and humidity (seasonal depending). Rotorua Canopy Tours will provide wet weather and warmth gear if required and will not let anyone participate if not dressed appropriate for the forecasted weather. Physical requirements Participants must under 120kg (264.5lb), be comfortable with being at heights, able to walk on uneven terrain, cross swing bridges, and ascend up to 63flights of stairs. Participants should be well fed and hydrated before arriving. Participants should be prepared for physical demands if the tour needs to evacuate due to changes in weather or an emergency during the experience.  An evacuation would require walking up to 30 minutes on uneven forested trails with small inclines, declines, soft ground, and exposed tree roots. At most times during the experience, we are over one hour from the nearest hospital. Guests with a history of cardiac complications, those with low fitness levels who may be strained with the exertion of exercise, or those with any other significant health-related complexities who may require immediate help are at risk of not receiving treatment promptly. Individuals with such conditions should seriously consider whether they can complete the experience safely and comfortably. Emergency Services are not able to access most locations within the forest. Please contact us before booking if you have any concerns We take all practical steps to ensure your safety throughout the experience but by acknowledging this risk disclosure you and anyone you are booking for are aware that we can’t fully mitigate all risk and hazards and your safety cannot be fully guaranteed.

Such an amazing experience! We were a group of 4, and 2 of us were very scared of heights. My sister nearly tapped out after the first zipline, but ended up staying through till the end, and I truly think that is because of the amazing staff. They were funny and great at keeping my mum and sister present, instead of stuck in their anxiety. Genuinely wish I lived in rotorua so I could be friends with Amy, she is great. Big shout-out to Amy, Andrew and the hobbit lol! 10/10 from us

The indigenous bush was amazing, from both below and above! Reuban and Amie were friendly and passionate about their work, they made the experience extra fun and kept me feeling safe at all times. I will return with the other members of my family and I recommend this activity to everyone visiting Rotorua. Thank you for an awesome afternoon

Steve and Vincent made an amazing activity a wonderful experience for our staff and students. There were a lot of nerves and anxiety and they weee so kind and friendly. Really made this a safe and exciting tour for us all. So good, I want to come back and do the Ultimate tour one day soon! Ka mau te wehi kōrua!

Wow! Had the best day with tour guides, Jesse and Steve. The tour itself was incredible, with endless fun and banter, but the full experience getting a better knowledge of the conservation and the good that the team is doing for the environment there. It was worth every dollar and would 100% recommend this little adventure to anyone, even if you’re afraid of heights! Thanks again to Jesse and Steve, you guys are amazing

Can't begin to describe the thrill of zooming over the canopy in ancient forest! Such an amazing tour with wonderful guides Mitch and Rueben coupled with excellent views and wonderful atmosphere. Bit of a walk in to start but very manageable with lots of stops to hear about interesting forest facts and feeding the ravenous North Island Robins. Everything is provided to make you comfortable and the safety is second to none. My kids were a bit tentative at the start but by the end we're hanging upside down on the zipline! Would definitely recommend!!

Jas and Vincent were amazing tour guides! We enjoyed our zip lining so much and loved being out in the forest, learning more about the trees, birds and pest control measures. Would 10/10 recommend this to anyone looking for a fun time.

Amazing adventure! The rain forest was incredible to see from this view. Nina and Liv were fantastic guides, very friendly and lots of fun! We also learned a lot about conservation. All-in-all a 5-star experience!!! Highly recommend!!!
