Great time fishing on the Carla in Aruba.Very rough and windy but the captain and 1st mate did an excellent job. We also get to eat what we just caught at Lucys Retired Surfers Bar

Let me start by saying that there was a scheduling issue and after several emails back and forth, the owner graciously accomodated us. Second, the first mate was a nice guy. This was our first time deep sea fishing and we didnt know what to expect. The captain’s English is very broken and hard to understand, so we didnt quite understand his instructions. However, He was unfriendly most of the trip. We felt like we were being yelled at the entire time. We did catch 4 fish - 2 small tuna and 2 decent size ones - the mate cleaned 2 and then told us the captain was keeping the other big one?!? We were stunned. We planned on offering some of the fish to our guides but we didnt expect them to tell us they were keeping 1/2. We pressed a few times and the first mate called the captain who then said it was ok to take the fish! We did 2 other excursions on the island and they were great. I dont think I have written a negative review before.
We cut the trip short because I was seasick but my husband and teenagers were not disappointed.

Edwardo and Rudy were awesome! Great professionals and made sure we were comfortable. Unfortunately it was a very windy day and didn't have much luck but that is what fishing is about and it wasn't for lack of trying on the crews part. Would definitely recommend for a 2 person experience.

Nothing good about this trip other then being out on the ocean. Crew will not talk or engage with you in any way. Captain tells you, I drive the boat he helps with the fish that’s it. We caught 2 small fish so that is always less fun on a 4 hour excursion. You get what you pay for $450 is not a lot of money for a private charter but it very much shows. I would NOT recommend.

Great crew that truly tried to allow us to catch the big one but you can't make the fish jump on the hooks. Beautiful ride very polite and helpful crew with the 2 we did catch

After the Carla was repaired, we left 1.5 hrs late on our 4 hr charter. The deck crew was great and we caught 6 mahi-mahi. When we arrived back to dock after 3.5 hr fishing, the captain Juan Carlos told us since there were 2 people fishing, we only get 2 fish and told the deck hand cleaning the fish to stop. After arguing with us in front of the restaurant Lucy’s with lots of people staring at us, he said we were greedy and would only let us have 3 of our fish - the smallest ones. This is our third charter fishing boat in Aruba and we would not use them again, but there are other good boats for the great fishing in Aruban waters.

We did a 6 hour fishing charter with Captain Juan and his crew. His knowledgable crew helped us catch numerous fish including a sailfish which was the highlight of our charter. We would highly recommend the Carla Charter to anyone looking for a fishing trip, you will not be disappointed!

If you’re looking to deep sea fish look no further. The crew was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We literally had our catch cooked within minutes of docking too at Lucy’s. All around a must if you visit Aruba.

We had a great time!!! Caught 4 large MAHI MAHI! Crew was great and took great care of us.
They took care of the fish for us and we had lunch prepared by Lucy’s and ate the fish we caught!
