Join this full-day tour that takes you to discover the architectural and spiritual splendor of Delhi. Start with a visit to Mehrauli Archeological Park and Qutub Minar, and spend the rest of the day witnessing modern architectural and spiritual sites of the Lotus Temple as well as the Akshardham Temple.

1. Mehrauli Archaeological Park
The Mehrauli Archeological Park is located next to the Qutub Minar Complex. Once we enter the park and start our journey, we will be greeted by the most impressive examples of Indo-Islamic architecture - the tomb of Sultan Balban, the ruler of the Slave Dynasty, which is also one of the earliest buildings to use the true arch in construction, dated to the second half of the 13th century.
2. Jamali Kamali Tomb and Mosque
Next, we will come across the most striking structure in the park - the Jamali Kamali, a mosque built by Maulana Jamali a poet and a Sufi saint who lived in the 1500’s during the period of the Lodis and, the Mughal rule. This beautiful mosque is a fine example of decorative work in plaster and tiles, adorned with verses penned by Jamali himself.

Walk a few steps ahead, to Metcalfe’s canopy, modified and built by Thomas Metcalfe, who was a British agent in the courts of Akbar Shah 2 and Bahadur Shah Zafar 2 – the man was so much in love with Delhi that he bought a country house on the lands of Muhammad Mirza Quli Khan and filled his property with many structures, there were even signs of a dried-up water body close to his house.
4. Rajon Ki Baoli
to the west of the park is the peaceful three-storey step well, Rajon ki Baoli, which is said to be constructed by a certain Daulat Khan during the reign of Sultan Sikandar Lodi; Another popular landmark in the park. The grand Baoli has been known to be used as a residence by local masons for some time (Rajon meaning Builders) and hence this name - even now, a sense of serenity and calm pervades the interiors of this wonderful place.
5. Qutub Minar
The Qutab Minar - 72 meters high and one of the most perfect towers in the Persian world. The Iron Pillar which has survived the vagaries of weather for over 1500 years.
6. Lotus Temple
Later, we will visit the Bahai Temple. The Bahá'í House of Worship at New Delhi is one of the marvels of modern architecture. The temple gives the impression of a half-open lotus flower afloat, surrounded by its leaves. The shining pure white marble, the majestic dome, the petals clearly standing out create a sense of grandeur and awe. All around the lotus are walkways with beautiful curved balustrades, bridges and stairs that surround the nine pools representing the floating leaves of the lotus. It is a remarkable tabernacle of peace and beauty and an engineering feat that will set standards for centuries. Capturing the imagination with its simplicity and elegance this monument in marble is dedicated to the purpose of prayer, meditation and spiritual upliftment. From within its hallowed precincts rise in praise and glorification of the Almighty voices in unison, of Hindus and Muslims, Jews, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians people of all castes, colours and cultures. There is no clergy in the temple, no idols, no pictures, no sermons, and no rituals. It is a place for communication between man and his Creator, God. The daily public services include selections from the holy books of all religions.
7. Humayun's Tomb
Next stop on our tour is Humayun’s Tomb (1586), built by the Emperor’s widow Hamida Banu Begam. Also known as Haji Begam, construction of his tomb commenced in 1569, fourteen years after his death. It is the first distinct example of proper Mughal style, which was inspired by Persian architecture.
8. Isa Khan's Tomb
Pass by the Isa Khan Tomb located inside the Humanyun's Tomb complex.
9. Swaminarayan Akshardham
Akshardham Temple is situated along the bank of the Yamuna River, adjacent to New Delhi. It is a large complex of temples made of pink sandstone and white marble. The Akshardham Temple was built by the Swaminarayan sect as a spiritual center of prayer and learning and as a resource center for the study of Indian Culture. Spread over 30 acres of the Eastern Bank of the Yamuna, the Akshardham Temple is a synthesis of Indian architectural styles. The design of the Akshardham Temple is inspired by temples from different parts of India. The sources include the temples of Badrinath in North India, Somnath in West India and Konark in East India. With a complex of temples and shrines set amidst sprawling lawns, prayer halls and spaces for meditation and communal gatherings, the Akshardham Temple is a new landmark in the National Capital Region. The Akshardham Temple is a religious and cultural highlight of Delhi.

This spring was my second time booking a tour with Tinetra. In 2018, Trinetra planned a wonderful ~10-day trip for our family in Kerala. It was a dream-come-true vacation that allowed us to visit fields of tea, spice plantations, India's waterways, and an oceanside resort. Our driver often added extra visits, to a circus for our children and to an elephant reserve. Every day was magical.
I called Trinetra again when I learned I would be in Delhi with a colleague for work. We were incredibly impressed with our Delhi guide, who had a deep well of historical knowledge and helped us begin to appreciate India's rich history. We then went to Agra, where a guide gave us an early-morning tour of the Taj Mahal and then took us to Agra Fort. We learned the stories behind the sites, and our guide made sure to take many photos of us so we would have memories to share with our families.
Trinetra is always quick to respond and very flexible. I can't thank them enough for planning two amazing vacations for me.

Our experience was absolutely amazing, the company representative could not have done enough for us, everywhere we went, we had a guide and driver meet us promptly, I would highly recommend Trinetra tours, everyone was professional, kind, friendly, and most of all welcoming. We had a wonderful experience in India and would highly give This company 5 stars!!!

A driver and tour guide are absolutely essential to fully experience India. Trinetra has the best drivers and tour guides. We had a different tour guide in each city we visited and they all held advanced college degrees. The stories and history they weave added to the exotic cultural and architectural wonders we experienced. Our trip was seamless in coordination as we traveled from city to city. I would not recommend going as a group over 4 to 6 people. You would not get the personalized attention offered in the smaller venue. Our thanks to all the Trinetra team for a job well done!

We traveled as a family with Trinetra tours to the golden triangle: Delhi Agra and Jaipur.
It was a very well organized trip, down to the last detail. Every hotel, every transfer, every transfer was impeccable. All visits had their tickets already obtained, so the use of time was very efficient.
At all times they were concerned about our safety and well-being.
The guides spoke Spanish very well, were friendly and answered our many questions.
Visnet, the driver who always had a smile, drove us safely despite the sometimes difficult traffic.
We visited even the largest baoari (water well), which many longer excursions do not visit, taking advantage of the transfer between Agra and Jaipur.
The trip through a very spiritual and impressive country is highly recommended. Where its people are the best.”

We had the most amazing 28 day holiday doing the Golden Triangle seeing the Taj Mahal and the Golden Temple. We also spent three nights on a houseboat in Srinigar. After 17 days seeing so many places we then had a relaxing 10 days in Goa. On the last day of our fabulous holiday we spent the evening with Tapas and Krishna at their house where we had a really enjoyable meal and it was great to see Tapas and hear how he started his business.

Spent an incredible 30+ days touring the South of India with Trinetra. The Trinetra team is fantastic, always available by WhatsApp and always provide clear instructions on next days activities. From arrival to departure every details was taken care of. We had great hotels (4-5*) all along the way. Fantastic guides, especially the Story Telling guide in Chennai. We had a driver for 21 days and he was always at our beck and call and always punctual, driving in India is no small feat but he made it safe and as painless as possible.

Pondicherry was a nice reprieve from the big cities. The best part was Kerala, beautiful, mostly clean and organized. Good mix of temples and nature. All our internal transfers went off without a hitch. When the guides wanted to take us to a store we generally declined without issues. India is at country of extremes and we’ve learned to bake in off days so we can decompress. This is our 3rd trip with Tapas’s and Trinetra and each one is even more amazing than the last one. You cannot go wrong going with Trinetra.

Just back home from our trip to see India's Golden Triangle. We had a wonderful experience with Trinetra Tours, a travel company based in Delhi owned and run by Tapas, who specialise in customised trips around the world. We were very impressed by their service, professionalism and attention to detail. Our trip included seeing spectacular sights - Old markets, Gandhi's remembrance gardens and Humayun Tomb in Delhi, the Taj Mahal, Red Fort near Agra and Nahargarh Fort, Amber Fort in Jaipur. The itinerary was well balanced with the guides providing details of the history and culture. The tour guides - Gajenera, Shankar and Vanche (apologies for the spelling) who were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The hotels selected in each city were excellent, clean with great food. Our chauffeur - Gramesh was pleasant and polite, and a marvel at negotiating the Delhi rush hour. His time keeping was good and always on hand. Trinetra provided the tour at a very good price and Tapas the company's director was keen to ensure we enjoyed our holiday and that everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend Trinetra Tours to anyone who wants to have a memorable and hassle free tour.
