Andy our guide was awesome and very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Osaka’s history which was very interesting. Outside of that the restaurants he brought us to were very tasty and we will definitely be going back to some of them!!

One of the best tours I’ve ever been on. What’s great is that it’s the actual owner who does the tour Andy made it super fun and engaging. Good value for the amount of food you get + great history/cultural insights. Would recommend to anyone.

We booked a food tour in Osaka with Hungry Osaka. First of all, it was very reassuring that our guide communicated with us before the tour. I always get nervous because we booked over a month in advance.
Our guide showed up promptly and took us to the hidden gems that locals go to. Not what is necessarily popular because of the internet. We went to 5 different restaurants and each was as good as the next. Our guide, Scott, was super pleasant and just the right amount of funny and answered all my Japanese culture questions, even though it wasn’t about food. He also thought about the order that the food would be tasted so we could fully appreciate them. For example, when we were at this chicken karaage place, we tasted about 4-5 different karaage flavors, going from subtle to wow!
Anyway, this food tour was well curated and you could tell Scott, our guide, really cared about our experience. And oh yeah, come hungry. We skipped lunch and we still had a hard time finishing our food. There definitely was plenty to eat.

In addition to trying lots of food at many local places we otherwise wouldn’t have found, this tour was really informative. Some food tours can be a bit dry, but Andy was a great guide who warmly shared information and stories about Osaka’s history, culture, and people. Conversation at the food stops was never dull, which cannot be taken for granted on tours like this.

Andy was such an amazing guide! Loved all of his restaurant picks, and he is extremely energetic and charismatic. I am pescatarian, and he was more than happy to ask for meat substitutes wherever necessary. I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking to get the Osaka street food experience!

We had a blast with Andy on this tour. He and his tour competely capture the vibe of Osaka. We had great food and met some real characters along the way. Andy is very knoledgeable, engaging, and fun. If you want a "real" view of Osaka and not some corporate tourist tour this is the way to go. Highly recommended.
