This was an amazing experience. Josue was an amazing guide and gave us a taste of a variety of costa rican culture. He was punctual and was very friendly. We started off at the Taquerena with a taste of a form of a flour tortilla with sour cream, he then was able to give a brief cultural history and personal history of the food and how it was traditionally made. We then moved on to try ceviche in a bag called caldosas which was very refreshing and unique…we then went to a local bar that has maintained its traditional appearance and customs, trying a boca (a form of an appetizer) which changes daily based on what they plan or what they have in the kitchen…afterwards we continued the walk throughout the downtown area and were able to see the nearby government buildings and health clinic along with some murals. We got to experience a very cute vegan restaurant called Ser, and don’t knock it until you try it, very refreshing and tasty, all from what the earth has got to offer. We did get rained on (since it it the rainy season) but it still made for a pleasant walk and did not ruin our tour (a little rain never hurts anyone), and we got to see how the waves increased in size and power as the tide was coming in. We then went to a bar called Donde Jenny (nice dive bar) where we got to dry off a bit and have some chifrijo and a drink…we last went and got our desert called the churchill and it is a must try. The portions on the meals seem small but everywhere you go, you get a taste of something, so I suggest you do the tour with an appetite, the walk definitely helps make room for the various things to try. Wear comfortable shoes and depending on the season, wear shoes that you do not mind getting wet or sandy. This was our first tour in Jaco, and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend doing this tour.

Josue was personable and charming. We ended up in a bigger group and he made us feel like we had individualized attention. He took us to good spots with good food. He gave us good information and history of the food, the city, and the country.

Josue was incredibly knowledgeable of the area, we learned a bunch of lesser known facts about Jaco! He kept the tour light and friendly! It was awesome having a small group to get a personalized experience! The food was amazing along the way, and really cool art throughout the city as well! 100% recommend this tour (or any tour Josue offers) when visiting Jaco

Josua was friendly and knowable about Jaco, its history, its customs, food and local murals. Our tour was 3+ hours and included everything that was stated. He offered suggestions for other activities and alternatives for our participant who didn’t care for beer. Great time

Josue was a great tour guide. He showed us where to try lots of great food in Jaco. He knew a lot about Costa Rica history and its food. We learned so much about CR. Josue took us to places we wouldn't think to find on our own. We tried many traditional dishes and ate a lot! He’s an amazing photographer as well LOL!

Fantastic food and a great experience all round. Josue was a wonderful guide. He took good care of us and gave us great insight into local culture, history and the foods we were eating. Some other members of the group were running behind and he was flexible and managed to accommodate them without impacting the other guests. Highly recommended.
