1. Longshan Temple

2. Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
The most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area. A huge complex includes the Liberty Square, National Theatre and the Memorial Hall where you can see the show of guard exchange.
3. Dihua Street
Dihua Street has been an important centre for commerce in Taiwanese products and produce such as Chinese medicinal herbs, fabrics, incense materials, and for the post-processing of Taiwanese tea since 1850s. This street offers visitors a glimpse of mid-19th century Taipei as well as the city’s thriving artistic side.
4. Dalongdong Bao An Temple
Originally constructed in 1742 as a wooden shrine, the Bao'an Temple is a Taiwanese folk religion temple. Throughout Taiwan's history, the temple was renovated and reconstructed numerous times, leading to a 2003 induction into UNESCO for cultural heritage conservation.
5. Lin An Tai Historical House & Museum
Tour the housing and garden style of Taipei during the Qianlong Period in Qing Dynasty (1754)
6. National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine
Built in 1969, the complex contains the main shrine, as well as the famous guard changing ceremony. Most visitors will leave the area as soon as the guard changing is complete, but be sure to walk inside and explore the fascinating and beautiful Chinese architecture.
7. National Palace Museum
Originally founded within the walls of the Beijing Forbidden City in 1925, the present-day National Palace Museum moved to Taipei's Shilin District following the Republic of China government relocation in 1949 with an official opening for the public in 1965. Over 600,000 of the most precious artefacts within the collection were moved to Taiwan to prevent their desecration during and after the Chinese Civil War. This attraction is optional, you can either spend your time on admiring the precious artifacts or skip the museum if you're not interested.
8. Taipei 101
The landmark of Taiwan and once the tallest building in the world (2004-2010)! You can either go up the observations at 89F (expense on your own) or admire this building from the surroundings (free).
9. Elephant Mountain (aka Nangang District Hiking Trail)
This is the best choice if you want to get the best spot to admire the view of Taipei City & Taipei 101. However, a 40-minute hiking along the stairs is required (25-min going up, 15-min going down), but the view up there is definitely the best you can have in Taipei City.

Seeing all the activity and ceremonies at two of the main temples. Changing of thr guard at the impressive Chiang Kai-shek memorial. Visiting the Grand Hotel. Taipei 101 up close. Our driver guide Junior was excellent and helpful showing us the best spots for photos etc.

I had an amazing time on this food tour with Garen! She showed me the hidden gems in Taipei while teaching me a lot about the culture and history. The food spots we went to were really good and local! You will get a good overall taste of the food whille walking in some charming neighorhoods. Garen was like traveling with a friend! I recommend booking this early so you can get an idea for planning the rest of your trip!

Our family of 4 had an amazing 8-hour city tour with our driver/guide Frank during our first day in Taipei. The tour guide was excellent. He was very efficient in getting us from place to place and got us the best locations for photos at the changing of the guards. He introduced us to the best place to get scallion pancakes. He took tons of photos for us ensuring we have plenty of memories of the day.

I highly recommend this tour. Chiao Chiao was amazing taking me exactly where I wanted to go telling me things about the history in the culture of Taipei other people they go and see things, but they don’t know what they mean, but I got a personal tour she was the best!
