We are an all-women, non-profit volunteer group that live and work in Sitka. Since 1969 the New Archangel Dancers have promoted Alaska as a visitor destination by sharing their knowledge of Sitka's Russian History and their pride in Alaska.
The Dancers' success and notoriety have been enhanced by regular guest performances at the opening of new Alaska Airlines terminals, at Alaska Governors' inaugural celebrations, and at various dance festivals, tourism trade shows, conferences, and public events. In addition to performing throughout the "lower 48," the dancers have performed to enthusiastic audiences in Hawaii, Japan, Russia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

The show was absolutely wonderful. Very close up and personable. Beautiful, authentic costumes. Lots of history and information. Unfortunately, I am not pleased with Viator. I originally reserved 8 tickets but I tried numerous times to reduce the number to 6. The 6 ticket request did not go through and I was charged on my CC for 8. ;( It really wasn't the money that upset me, it was the principle. Everything in this show is through volunteers and I gave an additional donation anyway.

This was a wonderful show. Beautiful authentic costumes. Lovely ladies celebrating the culture and customs of Russian natives in Alaska. They have a fifty year legacy. Easy to find. At the visitors center in Sitka where the cruise ships drop you off. A small museum is on the same building.

The New Archangel Dancers put on a fantastic half-hour show that is well worth the price of admission. The group does not hide the fact that they are enthusiastic amateurs who all have other jobs-the ticket sales support the production costs and the dancers volunteer their time. The dancers were uniformly high-energy and entertaining--and for amateurs, I thought they were also pretty skilled. The emcee told short stories between dances as the dancers changed costumes offstage, and the stories about the history of the dance group, their training, and the assembly and maintencance of their colorful costumes were engaging.
This performance added a lot to our Sitka experience, and it was a great complement to the other activties we did.

The New Archangel Dancers and Folk Show had outstanding production value considering they are all volunteers with other jobs. The dancers were very enthusiastic and entertaining as they performed their various Ukrainian and Russian Folk dance routines. I liked the dance stories which were presented in a n entertaining and humorous way. The emcee of the show in her outstanding attire was humorous and informative as well. The period clothing and costumes were very colorful and top notch, and added to the overall experience. It is clear they love what they do!
The New Archangel Dancers are not professionals! As a non-profit, volunteer dance troupe the performance was well worth it. At $15 a ticket it was easily the best value of our entire Alaskan cruise.

It was fascinating watching the women share the stories through dance. The costumes were beautiful! The hall is very interesting and the view gorgeous.
