The historic Old Liffey Ferry was once used to transport dock workers in the late 20th Century from their place of living on one side of the river in the local maritime villages there, to the busy port of Dublin on the other side of the river. Our tour offers passengers the chance to experience the history first hand. Our guides are all trained in-house and possess a natural love of the history of the ferry, the Port, the River, the City and those who have called it home throughout the years.

What a blast! Sorry I don't recall the name of the pilot, but the young man was lovely and we all felt safe on the little boat. The Guide Reg was brilliant at bringing the story of the Liffey, the people who worked on shaping it, the industry including Guinness and Odlums .....the building huge walls, the ingenious diving Bell, the changing face of port down through the centuries....and more. I will be bringing guests to experience this. 5 Stars.

Brilliant tour! As a Dub, its a side of Dublin we had never seen before. Engaging tour guide, plenty of facts and personal insight. Have recommended it already to two different groups of friends.

We had a lovely tour around Dublin Port with Reg and Dave our trusty guide and driver. Wonderful to see how the docklands has evolved again into a vibrant intrinsic part of our city. Reg provided interesting commentary on what we were seeing it was a marvellous afternoon topped off with a drink in the Cill Airne moored alongside the ferry. Magic

This was such an enjoyable and interesting trip down the Liffey and a bit beyond.
Lots of history and tales of local life .
And bringing us right up to the present with so much information about the various shipping we saw and the workings of the Port.
All communicated in a fun and engaging way.
Seeing the City from the river is so different , ; gives a whole new perspective.
Our Tour lasted for almost 90minutes and we thought it was brilliant value, considering the very reasonable cost.
Would highly recommend it to all ages.

This was meant to be a 1hr trip round the harbour, but the guys doing the trip were in no rush, pointing loads of stuff out to us and giving us real value for money. I think we ended up with a 1hr 15 mins trip.
The guide was very knowledgeable, giving us loads of interesting facts.
Real value for money, a cracking trip.

Beautiful weather to view the Dublin Harbor, so we were blessed with sun and warm temps. Good commentary by “captain” of the boat. So good experience for very small price.

I took the Old Liffey Ferry Guided Tour recently, Saturday, 8th July, and it was fantastic. I loved it. As did my two grandchildren (ages 6 and 8). I'm a native of Dublin but I've never taken this tour. I learnt a lot about the history of the Ferry itself, the Docks and the different types of industries that use our docks. Cruising on the water gives a very different perspective of the Liffey and how busy it is, this includes the abundant wildlife. I can't compliment the boat captain/skipper (sorry I didn't get his name) and the tour guide (Niall) enough on their hospitality, they were welcoming, friendly and very informative. I would and will highly recommend this tour, it's very affordable, highly interesting and I will be doing it again myself, it was a real treat.

The tour guide Frank
He's a brilliant historian and also was friendly to everyone
Asking those on the ferry their name
He's very knowledgeable about the history and the people who lived near the river
We were lucky to have a beautiful day.it is open but with suitable clothes we thought could be experienced in Irish weather.
Dave our driver was great
The river is busy with other crafts he and Frank are a good team to see a different life of Dublin
