You will have the opportunity to thank the ride to your horse, with a delicious carrot.
Horses are in perfect health and have appropriate training for children to enjoy the tour.

Everything about this tour was straightforward, easy, and so so worth it! We had Gabriel as our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. Despite it being our first time riding horses, it was super easy to pick up and made for a fun adventure with breathtaking views. We also each got a delicious refreshing coconut once we got to the top of the hill. Definitely recommend this tour!!

It turned out I was the only one who booked this tour (afternoons apparently tend to be quieter), but that didn’t stop the tour and did not faze my guide, Alonso, in any way.
The operator has a stable of horses of different characters that suit most people’s ability. They all seem to be very well cared for.
Alonso took me on a trip about 3 km to a high view point that allows you to see the volcano and Lake Arenal in all its glory. I am not a super experienced rider, but the ride and trail was good fun for me. Winding and fairly steep paths in sections (there are less steep options for less adventurous riders). If you are lucky, you can spot some wildlife along the way (I saw wild pigs and a wild turkey).
Alonso is a great guide and instructor and a pleasant person to chat with.
I highly recommend this as a way to experience horse riding while staying in La Fortuna!

This exceeded expectations! And that’s saying something as I chose to do this on my 30th birthday. I’ve never ridden a horse but doing so was easy. It was a rough ride at times but that’s because I’m a novice who didn’t wear pants on the saddle. The views were too beautiful to describe. Seeing them while sitting on one of God’s prettiest creatures was a birthday experience I’ll always remember. The guide was extremely personable. And when my friend’s horse turned back and galloped in the other direction he chased it down and got it back on track. That was fun to watch hahaha. Loved the coconut milk at the summit as well. Loved every bit of this — my eyes were feasting on the lushness of it all

Fun excursion that last surround an hour and a half! The guide takes you to a nice vantage point to see the volcano as well as other parts of the rainforest. Unfortunately, it was foggy and misty so we couldn’t see anything but if you go on a very sunny day, the view is amazing and he showed us videos on his phone on What the view would be like if it wasn’t misty! Definitely plan for this trip to be on clear Sunny day or you won’t be able to see much! Coconut is provided for you at the top of the vantage point and the guide. Takes pictures of you for free on your phone.

It was a lovely day and we had a small group of 3 which was terrific. It was a very nice ride, the guides (Gabriel was one) were very nice and took photos of us along the way. They also provided us coconut water halfway through the ride at a nice viewing area of the Arenal Volcano. We went about 11am… not sure I’d suggest earlier just b/c the volcano is generally shrouded in clouds in the morning but they burn off. Got to trot quite a bit! Wonderful time.

This was the best horse riding on my vacation. My family of 4 people as a solo group enjoyed this riding . Our guide was amazing; he made the ride so fun while ensuring we had good instructions. The horses were very well trained and responsive to their riders. We were also excited about the view, volcano mountain on the front and the Lake Arenal on the right. It was an amazing experience. Highly recommended!

Beautiful horse back ride with fantastic views of Volcan Arenal! The horses and the staff were all amazing - the ability of our guide to be able to take photos and videos of us while riding his own horse was astounding! Great to do even if you’ve never ridden a horse before!
