A once in a lifetime chance to visit three countries in just one day! Grab your passport and join us on this unforgettable day. Leaving Barcelona we head for a tiny medieval village close to the border before crossing into France to visit a beautiful French spa town where you will enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you'll head into Andorra over a high mountain pass, perfect for dramatic pictures. You will also stop in a picturesque valley on our way to the capital, famous for tax free bargains, before heading back into Spain in the afternoon. Breakfast in Spain, lunch in France, and an afternoon snack in Andorra - a day you'll never forget.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Palace of Catalan Music
7.00am - Your day starts when you arrive in our office, which is right across from the famous Palau de la Musica. Your guide will there to greet you and tell you all about the day ahead.
2. Baga
8.30am - Where else but in Europe can you visit three countries in one day? Three different countries, three distinctly different atmospheres, stunning drives, and breathtaking scenery. Depart from Barcelona at 7am, and relax during the scenic journey to Bagà. You will have the chance to marvel at the majestic rocky peaks in the Cadi-Moixeró National Park as we drive to Bagà. In Bagà, as this sleepy village comes to life, you can get a fresh pastry or sandwich in the local bakery, or a coffee in one of the many typical cafes, before rejoining your guide who will give you a short walking tour of the village before leaving you free time to explore alone. From Bagà, we will head deeper into the countryside as we drive towards the French border.
3. Thermes d'Ax
11.00am - Your next stop is the charming and beautiful ancient spa town of Ax-Les-Thermes. Your guide will recommend some of the best natural fountains to visit, and those best suitable for soaking your feet in. You will then have free time to enjoy the healing waters, browse the local artisan shops where you can buy local cheeses and cured meats, as well as looking out for a souvenir to remember your visit. After a while of wandering around this typical French village, its time to choose from one of the many local restaurant for a tradition French lunch. After a memorable French experience, you will meet back at the bus to head towards Andorra.
4. Pas de la Casa
1.30pm - The route takes you through the beautiful Pyrenees Alps to Andorra. One the way we will cross the Pas de la Casa, an amazing high mountain pass with some stunning photo opportunities.
5. Valle de Incles
2.30pm - As we descend into Andorra, we will stop at a typical mountain valley where you will get a glimpse of how Andorra used to be. From here, we will head down the valleys into Andorra La Vella.
6. Andorra la Vella
3.30pm - Andorra la Vella is the capital of the small but stunning country of Andorra, located high in the east Pyrenees, between France and Spain. This will be our last stop of the day, but you will have enough time to do a little bit of duty free shopping, grab a quick bargain or walk around its old stone streets and houses. At about 3:45pm, we will return to the bus and head back to Barcelona via a different route. This drive takes you through dramatic gorges, past verdant farming land, and alongside lakes and rivers, before the landscape levels out and the lush tones of green of the fields and the shinning grey of the mountain rocks are replaced by the dusty orange and brown hues of this arid landscape. You will stop enroute for a chance to stretch your legs and quench your thirst, before arriving back in town at about 7:30pm
7. Ponts
4.30-6.30pm - This drive takes you through dramatic gorges, past verdant farming land, and alongside lakes and rivers, before the landscape levels out and the lush tones of green of the fields and the shinning grey of the mountain rocks are replaced by the dusty orange and brown hues of this arid landscape. You will stop enroute for a chance to stretch your legs and quench your thirst, before arriving back in town at about 7:30pm
8. Montserrat
6.45pm - The final leg of the journey takes you past the dramatic scenery of Montserrat. This iconic mountain stands out dramatically against the skyline as we begin out last part of the drive into Barcelona.
9. Plaza de Catalunya
7.30 - 745pm - We end the day in Plaça Catalunya. From here, you can easily take the metro or a taxi back to your hotel. Otherwise, your guide will be more than happy to make some recommendations of where to have dinner.

This was a fun day to spend touring three countries, one of which most people have never - and will never - hear about. You will see quaint villages, rolling hills, stop for your pick from a great number of restaurants for lunch and tour downtown Andorra, which is colouful and really stands out with artistic and architectural expression.

I would recommend this tour for people staying in Barcelona with a little extra time on your hands, otherwise you'll just be cramming a lot into your holiday and it won't be much of a holiday.

Our original trip to Andorra and France was cancelled at the last minute by the previous tour operator so when Viator suggested this alternative, we jumped on it. It was the best thing that could have happened. I would strongly recommend Explore Catalunya Tours for all things Barcelona. They are organized, timely, professional and have experienced guides who speak English fairly well. For this specific tour, I would like to give a special shoutout to Judit who was absolutely amazing. She was filled with energy, built rapport with the tourists, she was filled with knowledge about each of the sites we visited, shared legends, you could ask her any questions about the country, the culture, politics, etc. which was great for conversations in between site visits. The cities themselves were also good, a lot of history and the views on our way to Andorra were awesome. Only draw back was we had less time in Andorra than expected but that didn’t spoil the fun we had. Thank you Explore Catalunya for an excellent tour experience!!

I’m in it for the scenery, and this tour did not disappoint. It was the end of May, and every place we traveled was brilliant green. The steep narrow valleys in the Pyrenees were spectacular. I love a road trip, so this was perfect for me. If you don’t like to spend an hour or two at a time driving, it’s probably not for you.

Our guide Pablo was knowledgeable and delightful. His enthusiasm kept us all in excellent spirits. I would recommend this trip highly.

The bus ride is fine as well as the first stop. The 2nd stop in France is a waste of time, the 2 available restaurants had horrible food, and weren’t prepared to prepare it in time for departure. The stop in Andorra was a shopping mall. Who wants to do that when there are far better options there? At least there are good restaurants in Andorra.

The guide was pleasant, but could have prepared a better historical context and dialogue.

We spent an amazing day as travelers with a most entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide, Pablo. He kept to the schedule allowing us plenty of time to explore each country, take pictures and stretch our legs. The hours flew by, no time was wasted and we never felt rushed. Pablo was our guide. He was the Spanish Jack black. He made the tour so fun. Baga was amazing followed by Ax de thermes and Andorra with a drive thru the Pirenees mountains! Definitely a must do. 5 Star all the way.
